He chuckled at the idea of repeating everything twice. "If I did that, I would never be able to teach my students anything. To be honest, my old mentor use to tell me that people will almost always understand mathematics if shown it three ways; written out with words, written out with numbers, and vocalized...I didn't believe him till I tried it myself and well...I became extremely good at math from it." Chuckling at his youthful naive again.
"Yeah, truly. I mean, I wanted her to look different from your classic 'hero' or 'main character', but still have that sense of goodness when you look at her, and still be beau-...you get the point." He cut himself short, realizing he was going into further details then he really wanted to. "So you do like the name? Good, good. I picked Akira because it meant 'intelligent' actually." He said, crossing his arms and nodding, quite proud of his choice.
When she told him about her teaching opportunity he was taken aback. "You were invited for wha...?" He said amazed, that was not something that slipped out of her the other night. "So you didn't accept because you didn't want to teach? Or because you wanted to be a student more..?" He asked, half curious, half astonished. "Oh? I haven't met Mr. Ichinose before." He said frowning, a little disappointed. "I'm sorry, but if it makes you feel better...we might not have become such friends if you were a teacher. I'm sure we would have met each other eventually, but under different circumstances. Things wouldn't be quite the same." He said, hoping it would at least help ease her regret of decline the job a little bit.
"No, of course, I'm not freaked out. It's your homeland, who wouldn't be excited to visit it?" He said and smiled. He heard the plural parent and remembered that her only comment about her father was that he was 'always gone', so it surprised him when she referred to both her parents instead of just her mom. "Gymnastics, really now?" He said amusingly, trying to picture her flipping around, causing him to chuckle. "So maybe you aren't a gymnast, but you still have acting, which you're great at." He said reassuringly.
