Character(s): Rin Okumura, Chou Hibeki Time: 6:30 PM (post-dinner?) Location: Dorm 20B
Rin pulled out his dorm room key and unlocked the door, nudging the door open with his shoulder as he cautiously peered in. His grandfather and brother had earlier moved his things in for him, which he was eternally grateful for. Rin found the assortment of boxes and the like placed on the bunk bed, and he moved over to them to begin sorting and organizing.
His first day back had been well; everyone was still getting situated, so there was little homework. Dinner had been alright, but Rin still preferred his own marvelous cooking. Speaking of cooking, Rin found a small cooking set in one of the boxes; his grandfather had made sure his grandson was prepared, despite the fact that there was no kitchen in the vicinity. Maybe he'd find a use for these utensils later, Rin thought, as he put them aside.
Rin managed to find the hair clip that his friend Bon had given him so that it would enable Rin to not be bothered by his somewhat long hair whenever he studied. Shrugging to himself, he put it on, clipping his bangs back. He looked ridiculous, but it helped as he bent over the box that contained his clothes.

" He was right. The majority of the stuff in those boxes were just that, clothes. He then arrived at the door of his living space, and rumaged through his bag for the dorm key. Once he stuck his key in the lock, he realized that the door was unlocked. This surprised him for a little. " Is there some here already?" he thought to himself. He never met his roommate, and he wasn't one to start introducing himself to a person he knew nothing about. He pulled out the key, dropped it in his bag, and turned the doorknob. Inside, he hoped that he wouldn't have some psycho as a dorm mate. He opened the door and walked in, peeking inside his dorm as he brought the wagon filled with boxes along with him. " Ahh..." was all he could say as he looked around the small dorm. He knew he wasn't alone when he spotted a blue-ish raven-haired boy inside with him. He seemed to have already made himself at home, with some of his stuff around the place. Chou kept a composed expression as he fixed the strap of his shoulder bag on his chest.[/ul]

Rin was just managing to tug his favorite jacket out of the box when he heard an audible, "Ahh..." from behind him. Turning around, Rin saw a dark-brown haired boy standing in the doorway. Aw, cool! Guess this guy's my roommate for the year, he thought, straightening up and grinning at the newcomer.
"Hey! I suppose you're my roommate. I'm Rin. Okumura Rin," he said cheerfully, strolling over to the boy and pulling the little wagon in. "You sure have a lot of stuff," Rin said pointedly, noticing how much effort he had to make to pull the wagon. What does this guy have? Bricks? I have half of the boxes he has! he thought, taking a better look at the stranger.
He was composed and seemed like one of those hardcore intellectual guys. Top of the class kind of guy, now that Rin actually thought about it. Then again, Rin was friendly with everyone he met, so he wasn't all that worried that his roommate was going to be a hassle.

" he said, moving past him and placing the wagon close by the closet of the dorm, which seemed to take up more space. than anything else in the room. " You seemed to have prepared all your things accordingly. You must have came earlier than me, it seems." he said calmly. " I am Chou Hibeki. Pleased to meet you." Chou finally said, and gave Rin a small bow. Even though he isn't usually this respectful to bow to someone who seemed the same age as him, he decided a good first impression always helped when moving in with someone.[/ul]

Though Rin now knew his roommate was strangely composed in comparison to other kids his age, he wasn't expecting the extreme formality he expressed in his explanation of his brick-wagon and in his introduction of himself. Chou. Chou Hibeki. Damn, this guy even bows to me! Rin thought, surprised and astounded. He hastily pulled himself together and offered a quick bow too, just to show that he would be amiable.
"I just came into the room about a little while ago," Rin said, shrugging as he straightened up. "I can move my stuff onto the ground if you'd like to use the bottom bunk," he offered, already lugging his boxes onto the ground and sliding them to a desk. Seriously, this guy needs to relax. We're gonna be roomies for the whole year...Oh, wait, crap! Rin suddenly realized that his new roommate might have the ability to be a light sleeper.
And if he was, Rin would be in trouble. He was in the habit to sneaking around at night, exploring the school on his own. If Rin went out on his nighttime adventures...Well, this guy might wake up and tell on him. And Rin certainly couldn't afford for a tattletale roommate. But...the guy did seem like that rule-following, top-student kid. Crap. Should I be honest and tell him about my wanderings or should I wait? Rin thought, hastily covering up his expression by bending over a box and pretending to rummage through it.
"So...what's your major?" he asked, trying to appear casual.

" Chou realized that there were sleeping on bunk beds. He hadn't realized that when he came in. This reminded him of something siblings would use in their room. He merely sighed, since he disliked the fact of having bunk beds, but he couldn't do anything about it now. " I could care less where you would like to move your things," he said bluntly. " I'll just arrange my things in the space that there is left. There should be plenty for me. You don't seem like a pack rat." he started to open his boxes and move to the closet. With the boxes in his arms, he settled them down and began organizing his clothes in the closet. " So...what's your major?" he heard Rin ask him. " Acting, mostly theatrical." he responded, putting his clothes neatly away in his space of the closet. He noticed that Rin didn't have much clothes compared to Chou. But he wasn't surprised about that. In the past, Chou learned that appearance means everything, but he wasn't going to go as far and change his current self for anything. So he decided to change his outer look. " You can tell me your major, but I never really asked. I'll probably figure it out later. But you can go on and tell me if you'd like." Chou wasn't making much sense with that, but he didn't want to leave Rin in an awkward position of silence for the time being.[/ul]

Rin was slightly taken aback by Chou's sudden bluntness. He could care less? Man, that sounds a little...I don't even know how to describe it, Rin thought, pretending to be looking for his laptop. He'd finished organizing everything and putting things into separate boxes a while ago, but Rin felt like he had to be doing something instead of just lounging around. He would've offered to help Chou unpack, but now...Rin wasn't so sure Chou would let him.
He took the non-pack rat thing as a compliment, but with Chou's formality, he wasn't sure what to think. Man, this guy's confusing, Rin thought.
Hearing Chou's response to his major question was slightly surprising. This formal guy? This somewhat stiff kid is an actor? Are you serious? Questions buzzed through Rin's mind. Well, at least he's in the closet so he can't see my expression, he thought, somewhat relieved. Wait, crap, I gotta make it sound like I'm still unpacking. Rin made a show of taking out his laptop and setting it on the desk, along with bunches of wires and external harddrives. He was a hardcore internet surfer. Mostly blogs, though.
"Uh, my major's acting too, actually," Rin responded cautiously. He didn't feel like he'd made enemies with Chou just yet, but it seemed to be heading in that direction. "Hey, Chou," he said, not used to the feeling of addressing his roommate, "Would you like the top or bottom bunk? I don't mind either way, so it's your pick." Hopefully by making this offer, it would ease the tension in the room a little. The guy just seems so stiff and formal. Like a robot or something.

" He thought to himself, and popped his head back in the walk-in closet, and continued on to putting his clothes away. He heard Rin respond, saying he was also majoring in acting as well. So he would be seeing Rin in some of his major classes too? Wouldn't that just mean they would just be that much closer, academically wise? Chou wasn't soo sure right then and there, but he just hoped Rin knew his stuff. Even though he wouldn't mind helping him once in a while whenever he needed it. " Hey, Chou," Rin called to him and with that Chou simply moved out the closet, with only a couple boxes left. " Would you like the top or the bottom bunk? I don't mind either way, so it's your pick." He didn't really care, but Rin seemed to over him the option, so why not comply? " .. The bottom bunk." he said simply, not making it difficult. and moving on to his desk. The rest of his boxes contained only supplies, past things he keeps from his years of acting, like simple pamphlets and such, and memories of his childhood. He keeps simple things that he collected as an early adolescence from festivals he had gone to. Fans, toys, dried up flowers, candles, and most of all pictures. These are treasured memories, but their memories. Past times where Chou was mostly always happy, and always smiled. " So, Okumura-san, what are your interests? He decided to start some sort of conversation, as he put away all of the memoirs of his past. He didn't want this awkward game of boring questions to continue.
