I'll try my best to explain to you what 'face claim' means.
Aozora Academy is a face claim roleplay, as you already know. Which means that you can create your own character - their own personality, background story, history, family - ANYTHING about your character, but their appearance will be of any animanga character you desire. Any. (Video games, such as Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, are acceptable as well!)
So for example: I have a character named Skye Aomori. But he will look like Len Kagamine because that's the face claim I have chosen for him. No, Skye Aomori is nothing like Len Kagamine - he's a completely different character. The only thing they have in common is their appearance.
I hope this helped atleast a bit, and if you're still confused don't hesitate to reply to this thread and i'll try my best to help you out!

And now, simplifying what OP is saying:
So, basically, "Face Claim' means this:
You design a character, give him or her or it a personality, background, history, life, description . . . but you pick an anime or manga (or video game character) and use that person's appearance as a representation of what your character looks like.
For example, if I made a male character, made his history into something that led him to being a butler, and said "My Face Claim is Ichigo Kurasaki" from Bleach. This would mean that if you search up 'Ichigo Kurasaki' you would find what my character looks like, and this is my 'Face Claim'.

I believe a 'face claim' is like a celebrity, actor or character you make or use or something like that. Sorry if it isn't accurate, my apologies
