Character(s): Ren Yukio & Ayame Natsuri Time: 9:00PM Location: Music Room
Ren awkwardly walked into the Music Room, looking around. "Empty." He said with a small smile, "perfect". The first thing he saw was the white piano a few meters before him. He hasn't played the piano in such a long while, he was almost deprived.
The fight he got into yesterday morning with Yousuke and Ayame impacted him more than it should've - and it bothered him up to the point where he lost sleep over it. He knew for sure that playing the piano for at least a second would calm him down and erase those thoughts he had in his head.
Then he sat down and stared at the glistening keys before him. And then started to play - each key after another made such a beautiful sound. He didn't care if the whole school could hear him, he just wanted to become calm again.

A million thoughts floated around her head that morning. Thoughts of Ren, and Yousuke, and the fight they'd gotten into the day before. She thought of what she could have said that wouldn't have hurt anyone, and how she could have followed Ren when he ran off. She thought of how hurt Yousuke looked, and her futile attempts to cheer him up. And as she thought, she walked past a room with trails of beautiful music flowing out into the hall.
Poking her head in the door, she saw him seated in front of a grand piano, his shoulders rising and falling as he played. The anger that had encased him yesterday was far from his mind. This was the Ren she should have remembered, but couldn't. He was always playing when they were younger, and he was always the best, which was where his ego had originally sprouted.
Now would have been a good time to apologize, but she was frozen. Her legs wouldn't move an inch, and tears hovered behind her eyes. The thought of letting a few words ruin the friendship they had so long ago ripped at her heart.
With a lump growing in her throat, she took a step towards him. And another. And another. Until finally, she was right behind him. He hadn't noticed her yet. She placed a hand on his shoulder, expecting the worst.
"Ren..." her voice shook like her knees. "I'm sorry." A tear fell down her cheek. "I'm sorry."

As Ren continued playing his favourite songs - not a single thought crossed his mind. He was so concentrated on playing each note correctly, not wanting to make any mistakes - as if he was playing infront of a gigantic audience.
Then, he heard something else than the music he was creating. Small sobs coming from behind him. As he was about to turn around, they placed their hand on his shoulder and he abruptly stopped playing. As he was about to say something, the shady figure spoke.
"Ren... I'm sorry." He recognized that voice. It was that irritating voice that yelled at him yesterday - that voice that not only made him lose sleep for a while, but also the voice that made him feel guilty. And that was rare.
He felt cold drops of water on his neck - "I-is.. is she crying...?" He asked himself, and quickly turned around and widened his eyes. She was shaking. "A..Ayame." he mumbled as the blonde girl stood before him as he sat down on the piano bench.
Ren quickly looked away - "....Why are you apologizing? Better yet why the fuck are you crying? There's nothing to cry about." He said in a rude tone. But he truly was concerned. Why was she crying..? "Well, then again..." he thought to himself. "She always was a big cry baby when we were younger. Tch."
"Oy!" Ren said as he pulled her hand. "Why are you crying?! Stop it! You're embarrassing yourself, god damnit."

His words sounded far away. All she could hear was her own heart beating out of her chest. The instant she heard his voice, the tears stopped, like they had just been turned off. And when he yanked at her hand so roughly, the way he had when they were just little kids, she straightened up like she would have back then.
"Why are you crying?! Stop it! You're embarrassing yourself, god damnit."
As much as it hurt, he was right. She was just embarrassing herself. Her father told her that crying was a sign of weakness, and to show weakness in battle is a death wish. However, this was not a battlefield. This was a music room in a school she didn't want to be at, trying to talk to someone she hadn't seen in years, and didn't expect to ever again. And this opportunity to fix things between them was something she couldn't pass up.
"Ren." she mumbled, rubbing at her eyes with the backs of her wrists. "Do you remember what I said to you back when we were little? When I said I wished I'd never see you again, I didn't mean that." That was so far from the truth.
"I want to be friends with you again. I don't want to lose you. I know you've gotten cold, and you've tried to close yourself away, I have too, but you don't have to be scared anymore. You have me, and Yousuke, and..." She wiped her eyes again. "You don't have to be alone anymore, Ren. You're not alone anymore."
At this moment, as much as Ayame wanted to hug him, and tell him how things would be okay, and how everything would improve now that they were reunited, she couldn't. She couldn't even look him in the eyes just yet.

He stared at Ayame as she was speaking. "...What is she going on about now..." he thought to himself and sighed heavily.
"Okay, okay.." Ren said as he still held her hand, "I get it. Just stop crying, okay? I don't like seeing you like this." His eyes slowly moved away from hers. "You never know when to stop talking, do you?" He laughed to himself.
"I-i mean...!" he said almost instantly after he realized the things he said was too cheesy. "....Shut up" he shouted as he accidentally slammed his hand down on the piano keys and almost scared himself to death. He quickly stood up and put his hands in his pocket. "The fuck are you doing here anyway, it's 9 30. Shouldn't you be in bed?" He growled.

She jumped at the loud, clashing sound of the piano keys being pushed down all at once. Sighing, she gave up. Nothing she said was getting through to him, but there was time to change that. There was an entire year, maybe more if he decided to stay for the next, and she was determined to change him.
"You haven't changed a bit." she said, smirking. "You're still a jerk."
"The fuck are you doing here anyway, it's 9 30. Shouldn't you be in bed?" His fake gruffness made her laugh, and every last bit of softness from her face disappeared.
"Sorry, Ren. I forgot you were my mother." she muttered, walking towards the door. She stopped at the threshold and turned around. "But in all seriousness, it's nice to see you again. Even though you're a jerk and I can't stand you."

He glared at her. "Whatever. Judge me however the fuck you want, Ayame. You're still a cry baby." he said bluntly as he let go of her hand.
He heard her laugh slighty, and it made him irritated. "The fuck was she laughing at?" he thought, "I didn't say anything humorous." his frustrating thoughts didn't help one bit.
"Sorry, Ren. I forgot you were my mother." He became irritated more and more each second. "THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY?! HEY! AYAME! GET BACK HERE!" He growled and decided to ignore her. "Tch. Bitch."
No matter how many arguments they got into, Ren always found a way to just ignore it and forgive her which truly was rare. Ren was never the type of person to 'forgive and forget', rather, he was the complete opposite.
There was just something about her. Something.
