Character(s): Yousuke Kiyama, Ayame i forgot her last name, Ren Yukio Time: 9:20AM Location: Ren's Dorm
Ren was late.
Yousuke wasn't too surprised. He never really expected Ren to be the punctual type of person. However, Yousuke couldn't help but feel a slight bit of annoyance. He went through all that trouble to make physical education the first class of the morning to all of his students, and this was how Ren thanked him?
"I swear, if he's the reason that he's holding up the entire class, I am going to..." The only thing that kept a frown from appearing on Yousuke's cheerful face was the sight of the blue-haired boy in the crowd of students.
Yousuke had been pacing back and forth around the gymnasium, checking his watch every now and then. It was already almost twenty minutes into the class, and that was when it struck him. Ayame wasn't here either! It was a co-ed morning mile test, and the only two students missing were Ren and Ayame.
Oh god, what if they fought again? He thought worriedly. Jesus christ, would those two ever revert back to normal? I'm probably the only one who thinks that they would be good for each other. He added a bit bitterly, shaking his head in disbelief as he raced towards the exit.
Yousuke was at Ren's dorm within minutes, his fists already banging loudly at the door before his feet even reached the ground. "Ren! Ren, do you hear me?!" He shouted. He suddenly paused from his knocking and stuffed his hands into his pockets, sifting through the mass of pocket lint and random accessories until he finally pulled out a small ring of keys.
Yousuke filtered through the multiple keys until he finally spotted the key that worked for every dormitory door in the wing. The pros of being a teacher. He thought as he jammed the key into the doorknob and turned hastily. He pushed forward on the door and stumbled into the dark room.
"You're late, Mr. Yukio!" Yousuke called out, immediately heading towards the bed after flipping on the light switch, "And have you happened to see Aya--"
There were two bodies on the bed, nestled together.
Two? Did Ren fall asleep embracing his roommate?
Ren swings that way? Yousuke couldn't help but think as he peered over to see that the person next to Ren was, in fact, not a guy. It was... Ayame? They slept together?
Even with the blanket covering them, Yousuke could tell that Ren didn't have a shirt on. The man's heart rate began to quicken as thoughts about what might have happened to these two infiltrated his mind.
"Wake up!" he suddenly hollered, leaning over and roughly yanking off the blanket. His tone wasn't lighthearted or cheerful or teasing. It wasn't serious or disappointed or angry. It was worried, and concerned - the voice of an older brother who loved these two asleep teenagers more than anything in the world.

It had been a rather fitful night of sleep, and with the strong light of the morning beating through the thin skin of her eyelids, Ayame wasn't sure if the pounding was in her head or if someone was really knocking on the door. She was surprised to see Ren still asleep beside her, and it took a while to remember where she was and what was happening, but before she could fully come to, a loud, "Wake up!" rang, and someone pulled the covers off the two of them. Yousuke? How did he even--Well, they did have his class first in the morning. They stupidly forgot about that.
She sat up quickly, like it was a reflex, and immediately snatched the blanket back and threw it at Ren, forgetting that she'd requested that he sleep in his boxers. Her face reddened and she turned to Yousuke defensively. "Look, You-nii, i-it's not what it looks like!" she stammered, fumbling with the buttons on her shirt. When she scrambled to get dressed last night, she didn't put much effort into putting her clothes on well, and now it looked a bit...suggestive.
"Ren kind of...went a little crazy last night, you could say." she mumbled, turning to Ren. "And he said he needed my help, so..." Her voice trailed off. It didn't really matter. Whatever she said, it couldn't really fix whatever Yousuke was thinking of them.

Ren was still asleep, but he could feel the pounding headache that was going to stick with him the whole day today. He heard many loud noises - but didn't make an effort to actually understand what they were. He just wanted to sleep more, and at least try to relieve himself from the pains of his hangover.
"..Look, You-nii" You-nii? Who the f-.... shit. Ren thought to himself as he opened his eyes half way and saw his two childhood friends right there infront of him. As Ayame threw the blanket at Ren he growled, "What the fuck are you doing.." Ren said lazily as he turned around, placing the blanket all over his body and over his head, pretending this wasn't happening.
"Can you take this outside? I want to sleep."

Yousuke looked frantically between the two in front of him. He couldn't believe it -- the way Ren was shirtless and how Ayame hastily moved to fix her misshapen clothes. The thoughts that he never expected to have continued to collect in his mind. Ayame and Ren weren't like that, right?
"Look, You-nii, i-it's not what it looks like!"
Yousuke didn't say anything.
"Ren kind of...went a little crazy last night, you could say. And he said he needed my help, so..."
"What did he need help with?" Yousuke asked in a monotone voice, glancing around Ayame to look at the bed. The grouchy boy had rolled over on his side, complaining like he always did. "Ayame, calm down." Yousuke said, still frozen from shock at what he was seeing in front of him.
"I thought you two were at each other's throats, and now I catch you two like this? This is too much for You-nii to handle!" He let out a nervous chuckle, sitting down on one of the desk chairs. Of course he wasn't mad, but that didn't mean he wasn't shocked. Even if it nothing happened, like what Ayame said, it didn't matter. They had still been in bed together, and that was what shocked Yousuke the most.
"...You two are close now?" he asked a bit stupidly, completely forgetting that he had a class to teach and that these two were supposed to be in that very class.

For someone who had just been roughly awakened, Ren was handling it a lot better than she was. Of course, she wasn't the one that drank herself into oblivion, lost her discretion, and made out with Sora. As she sat and pulled her stockings up, she noticed a look of honest concern on Yousuke's face. She felt sincerely bad, one for skipping class, and for not telling Yousuke about her...relationship with Ren.
"What did he need help with?"
"Eh, well," she began, standing up, and combing out her hair with her fingers. "He just had a rough night." she explained, patting Yousuke's shoulder. The poor guy looked stunned, and he had every right to be. Just a week ago, he was breaking up their skirmishes every five minutes and now he was catching them in bed together. Of course, it was completely innocent, but it still wasn't what she wanted him to see.
"...You two are close now?" Yousuke asked flatly. His tone matched his facial expression. A mix of bewildered and lost.
"We're kind of...together." she confessed, fixing the pleats in her skirt, catching her nails on a thread. Sighing, she straightened up. "Yousuke, I'm sorry for not telling you earlier, but... surprise?" she said stiffly, fanning her hands out an waving them. Well, that didn't neutralize any of the awkward. In fact, it just kind of magnified it.
"Ren, say something." she mumbled, looking at the floor. Hopefully he'd have something more... intelligent to say.

Ren was starting to get a bit irritated at the fact they didn't take it outside like he politely asked them to. "Ren, say something." Ayame said a bit quietly even though Ren wasn't even present in their conversation.
"No." He shouted as he took a pillow and threw it at the both of them. He buried his face in his pillow, wondering what it took to get them to leave the room. "Yeah yeah, Ayame and I slept together." Ren shouted with his face still buried in his soft pillow, not sure if that was the answer Yousuke was looking for.
Seeing this opportunity as a good moment for revenge, he sat up - smirking. "Ayame is really really good in bed you know." Ren rambled as he realized he was still shirtless. "She took advantage of me while I was drunk last night - but hey, who was complaining?" He started laughing as he put his hands through his hair, staring at the both of them.
He winked at Yousuke and pointed slowly to Ayame, "She's a screamer."

"We're kind of...together."
He said nothing. He pulled at the hems of his sports jacket, glanced back and forth from the floor and the ceiling a few times. He looked at the room, the desks, the closet, anywhere but the bed that Ren was still in. He was also avoiding looking at Ayame. Eventually, the man finally focused on the floor. It didn't stop his heart from racing though, and the accusing thoughts to continue to pile in his mind. Ayame... and Ren? It wasn't as if he was against it, but he definitely didn't expect to see them like this.
As Ayame picked at her clothes, she continued. "Yousuke, I'm sorry for not telling you earlier, but... surprise?"
"Yeah, that was a surprise." He gave a nervous laugh, attempting to sound nonchalant, "But...but you two...match each other." he managed to say casually. It was true, wasn't it? He always did say that he would like it better if Ren and Ayame threw their stubbornness aside and just got together. Now that it actually happened, though....Yousuke almost laughed right then and there. Of course Ayame and Ren didn't do anything! This was totally unlike them, and even Ayame said it.
It wasn't what it looked like, and he believed her.
"Yeah yeah, Ayame and I slept together."
Just as Yousuke was feeling convinced, Ren's words shook him back. As Ren stood up and emitted the very words that Yousuke never ever wanted to hear, the man silently stood up from the desk chair, walking towards the bed.
"She's a screamer."
Now allowing even a second for Ren to say something else, Yousuke suddenly arched his arm back and swung forward to punch Ren in the face.

"Yeah yeah, Ayame and I slept together." Ren muttered. Swallowing nervously, she stared at him anxiously. He looked calm, but he also looked like he was planning something. There was mischief in his eyes. God, what more could he do?
"Ayame is really really good in bed you know."
What. The. Fuck.
"She took advantage of me while I was drunk last night - but hey, who was complaining?" he laughed, shifting his eyes from her to Yousuke back and forth. What was he doing? Unable to find her voice, she just choked on her breath and turned to Yousuke, shaking her head vigorously.
"She's a screamer."
Ayame suddenly froze, and her mouth fell open. Finally, words came to mind. "Yousuke, he's just--" Before she could finish the sentence, Yousuke's arm was already pulled back like an archer's, about to strike Ren with his first.
"Yousuke, don't!" she screamed, grabbing his opposite arm. "He wasn't being serious, he's just being a douche, he's Ren."

Next thing Ren knew, he felt even more pain. And this one wasn't something he could just handle.
"Yousuke, don't! He wasn't being serious, he's just being a douche, he's Ren." Ren held his cheek and glared at the both of them - "Douche? This douche happens to be your boyfriend, Ayame." He shouted as he punched Yousuke back but in the stomach. He couldn't handle his anger - It was like he was cornered. The two people he probably cared for the most were against him. Again. Some how this always seemed to happen, and he didn't like it anytime it did. "Why are you being such a baby, Yousuke?! What are you, 12?!" He shouted as he looked down at him, ignoring everything that Ayame was saying. After she called him a douche, he totally shut her off. "How can you be so uptight? Not like you have any experience in sexual relationships." Ren smirked. He hated being mean to the person who was like his older brother - but he just couldn't sit there and let the both of them gang up on him.
He was trying to defend himself.

As soon as Yousuke's fist grazed Ren's cheek, he felt the forceful tug of Ayame's grip yanking his other arm back.
"Yousuke, don't! He wasn't being serious, he's just being a douche, he's Ren."
"Shut up, Ayame!" Yousuke found himself retorting harshly, his entire mind burning with a ferocity that he thought he would never feel in front of her. "I know you care about him, but there are some things that you just can't fucking ignore!" The man jerked his arm away from Ayame's, stumbling back a few steps.
He didn't know when he last felt this angry. It had probably been years since he had lost his cool like this. Attempting to find the remorse and regret that he had no idea existed, Yousuke was suddenly pushed back even more with a nicely-placed blow to his stomach.
Stumbling backwards, Yousuke only nearly managed to stay on his feet. He was physically strong, and had the endurance and stamina of most athletes - but still, Ren had probably thrown hundreds of more punches than Yousuke ever did.
"Why are you being such a baby, Yousuke?! What are you, 12?! How can you be so uptight?"
Yousuke let out a bitter laugh, "Who's the immature one here, Ren?" He arched an eyebrow almost mockingly, "You're treating this whole thing like a joke, Ren. It's time for you to grow up. You don't fuck around when it comes to this kind of stuff, Ren." He paused for a moment as he regained his breath, "I was worried about you two. I don't want any of you to get hurt, and just as Ayame was clearing up a misunderstanding, you...you just had to screw it all up."
"Not like you have any experience in sexual relationships."
"You're more of a kid than I thought." Yousuke replied, glaring at the other boy directly in the eye. He reciprocated Ren's smirk with one of his own, "What an immature way of handling things. Trying to downgrade others as a way to protect your own dignity, hm? That's what a kid does, Ren. "

"Shut up, Ayame!" Yousuke growled. It was unlike him to even raise his voice, let alone yell at her. "I know you care about him, but there are some things that you just can't fucking ignore!" he screamed, pulling his arm from her grasp.
"Y-Yousuke..." she whispered, surprised. She knew angry people very well, considering Ren Yukio was her boyfriend, and so she took a few steps back so she could see everything as it happened. For now, they were at a standstill: Both Ren and Yousuke stared at each other, narrow eyed, breathing heavily. Yousuke's hands, the ones he held so gently from the time she was a small child, were now shaking anxiously. Ren, whose stare was normally cold and metallic, was now intense and burning. If looks could kill, she wondered, who would drop dead first?
After a few glances between the two, Ayame decided it would be a lot better for all three of them if she just stayed quiet until things got too out of hand. In this time, she'd have to come up with something to do if the situation got even worse.

Ren couldn't control his anger at all, he didn't know what to do first. Beat him up so bad that he couldn't speak, or call him out just like Yousuke did to him. Although, he probably wouldn't be able to deal that much damage with just plain words. He was never good with words - he always dealt things with violence.
"I admit." Ren smiled a bit - "I am a kid. That was a pretty immature move." Ren shrugged and looked up, "But do you honestly think I care if I'm being hypocritical? Being a complete asshole hasn't stopped me, so why do you think hypocrisy will?" Ren cleared his throat and raised his eyebrows - "But how old are you again? You're a fucking adult, Yousuke, and you still can't take a fucking joke?" He started laughing, "I haven't laid a hand on Ayame, fucking stupid shit." He grabbed him by the collar and punched him twice as hard as he did the first time - he wasn't holding back at all.
Watching his best friend hit the wall was something he oddly enjoyed, and he didn't feel guilty one bit. He walked over to Yousuke and looked down,
"I'm immature, I'm crude and violent. I'm probably the person with the shittiest personality in this school." He kneeled down to his level and grabbed his collar lightly, "But I don't give a fucking shit. Because this is how I am, and this is how I want to be. If it keeps me away from pathetic people like you, I'm more than glad to be an immature kid."
He got up and opened the door - "I never want to see your face again, you got that, Kiyama?"
"You're dead to me."
And with those last words, Ren left his own dorm shaking. He held back more than he thought. Thinking about all the things he could of done but didn't made him feel utter regret. But right now, he just needed to cool down and get rid of this headache. He just couldn't stand being there and being cornered. It didn't help that his own girlfriend was against him, but it was reasonable since he joked around about the wrong things. He probably deserved it.
He always deserves these kinds of things, right?

"Y-Yousuke..."
Yousuke hesitated, but only for a moment. He knew that what he was doing wasn't making the situation any better, but it was already too late. He started it, he might as well finish it too. And besides, who knew how long Ren deserved this?
"You're a fucking adult, Yousuke, and you still can't take a fucking joke? I haven't laid a hand on Ayame, fucking stupid shit."
Yousuke narrowed his eyes, searching to find the right words to say. "The thing is, Ren..." he began coldly, "If you're going to stay this way -- immature and stubborn, barreling through without a damn care -- then you're going to stay that way for the rest of your life." He seethed, "You can't rely on stupid jokes like that. It's going to end up getting you killed one day."
Before Yousuke could say more, Ren's fist smashed into his face. The impact was stronger this time, and Yousuke stumbled backwards and tipped over, only at the last moment being able to clumsily land on his knees.
As he regained his breath and glanced up, Ren had leaned over and grabbed his shirt collar while looking at him directly in the eyes. Yousuke wasn't afraid to stare back just as coldly, and in fact he almost felt amused. This kid really needed some shaping up before Yousuke would ever even consider him as a worthy human being.
"I'm immature, I'm crude and violent. I'm probably the person with the shittiest personality in this school. But I don't give a fucking shit. Because this is how I am, and this is how I want to be. If it keeps me away from pathetic people like you, I'm more than glad to be an immature kid."
Fighting back laughter, Yousuke merely pretended to nod submissively. His stomach and face burned, but the pain was nothing compared to the raw contempt he felt for the boy in front of him.
"What a brat." he smirked, "Trying to act all high and mighty when all it does is make you look like some toddler lost in an unfamiliar adult world." As Ren let go and stood up, Yousuke took his time getting back on his feet as well.
"I never want to see your face again, you got that, Kiyama? You're dead to me."
Yousuke didn't say anything, he merely watched as Ren left the dorm and stalked off. When he could no longer see the other boy, Yousuke wiped the back of his palm at his bloody mouth, smearing some of it on his jacket sleeve. He then turned around to face Ayame, some of the kindness returning to his eyes.
"Are you alright?" he asked, not exactly sure what type of reaction he was going to get from her. "You can run after him if you want." he added, "He probably needs you more than anything else right now. I...I can excuse you from class. I have to go back anyways." He managed to crack a small smile, but it looked out of place on his bloody and bruised face.

The scene was worse than something from a nightmare. Her two best friends in the entire world had just fought over something so incredibly insignificant, and now it was ending in punches and silence. Yousuke was hunched over, bleeding and jeering, and Ren was walking out shaking. What happened to them?
She backed up into the wall, and slid down, unable to feel her legs. Yousuke stood before her, facing the door, which Ren slammed on his way out. After a few full moments of sickening quiet, he turned to face her, forcing a smile that probably hurt more than the actual hits. "Are you alright?" he asked. You can run after him if you want." he added, "He probably needs you more than anything else right now. I...I can excuse you from class. I have to go back anyways."
It would be easy to just lie and nod, and wait for him to leave the room, but the pressure in the world suddenly welled up inside, and she buried her face in her palms, sobbing. Did he really think she cared about being excused from class after what just happened? "Why did you just let him go?" she asked weakly, tears streaming down her face. It was out of character of her to cry in front of someone other than Ren, but the situation wasn't very normal in the first place. Suddenly annoyed and disappointed in the way the two handled the situation, she stood up, her shoulders shaking, and walked towards him. "How could you just let him go?" she repeated, raising her voice.
She stared at him for a while. At his bruising face and his swollen lip. But no matter how pathetic and hurt he looked, she couldn't stop being upset with him. Nonetheless, she couldn't express it in his condition. So unable to ask or say anything else, she just took the last few steps closer to him, and put her arms around his trembling body. "I'm sorry, Yousuke." she muffled into his shirt. When it all came back to the start, the whole thing was really her fault after all.

"Why did you just let him go?"
Yousuke didn't say anything. He lowered his beaten face and stared at his shoes and at the floor. God, he was ready for anything. He was ready for Ayame's own hand to slap him, and he was prepared for the harshest of words and insults. He glanced up for a quick moment only to see her tear-stained face, and when he looked back down he felt his own eyes watering.
It was the worst time in the world to have a flashback, but a six-year-old Ren Yukio pushed himself into Yousuke's mind. A smiling face, waving around his small little fists that Yousuke never thought would be the source of all this physical pain. A sob escaped him as soon as the tears began to freely flow. Crying felt unfamiliar; the tears felt foreign. Yousuke Kiyama never cried.
Oh god, he's so little. He's so fragile. He's my little brother. I... I...
"How could you just let him go?"
"I-I'm sorry." He choked out, tears continuing to stream down his usually happy face. The salt burned at the small wound that had opened at his lips, but it was nothing compared to the emotional pain he felt. "I...I shouldn't have done that." he added, still fighting to find the right words to say.
Just then, he felt her in front of him. He couldn't stop himself - it was an instinct, an action that he had done all his life - he wrapped his arms around her immediately, hugging the younger girl close.
"I'm sorry, Yousuke."
"No, I am." He whispered, "I'm sorry." He buried his face into her hair, his status as a teacher gone. No, he stopped being a teacher once Ren walked out that door. He wasn't their parent or their guardian. He was a brother, and he was determined to live up to that role. "I punched your boyfriend first." He gave a shaky laugh through his sobs, "I'm sorry, Ayame."
