Characters: moody angstySora and someone else :3 Time: 11:40 am Location: Roof
Today was not a good day for Sora, and it only seemed to be getting worse. Skipping class was normal for the teen but today it wasn't to do a fun thing. Sitting on the roof alone was what he chose to do today, and sulk in his bad mood.
On his back he lay, looking up into the sky, and imagined what sky Emi was looking at. If she was outside back home looking up and thinking about him to. He decided to find out. Shifting his body, he dug his phone out from the depths of his back pocket. Emi was the first person on speed dial.
He waited as the rings went by, his heart aching to hear her voice, even if it was just a voicemail. Of course she won't pick up in school. She's a good girl.
"Sora?"
His heart warmed instantly at the sound of his little sister's voice. "How's my girl?" He smiled into the phone, holding it with both hands.
She giggled, "I'm doing good. Is something wrong? You never call me in the middle of the day like this."
Sora thought back to the lists of things that were wrong, but decided not to worry Emi with the details. "No, big brother just wanted to hear your voice. Pay attention in school and get back to class." He smiled sadly.
"Okay. Sora... When am I going to see you again? I miss you."
Ouch. That one stung his heart. "Yeah.. I miss you too Em. I'll visit you soon okay? Ah, I have to go now... I love you."
"Ah but--" he hung up before she could finish. Throwing an arm over his eyes he groaned painfully. He still hadn't made enough to go back home, and he just couldn't go back knowing he had nothing to show for being away. He ripped off his stupid bow tie and threw it away angrily, taking out his frustration on anything he could.

The one thing Arlette enjoyed here was how random her free periods were. At the moment, she had one right smack in the late morning.
And so, she headed for the rooftop. She usually went there on the basis that she'd like to be alone, but Arlette felt like she needed a change of scenery from the grounds below. Arlette expected nobody to be there.
What she did not expect, was to hear, as she emerged from the stairwell, a voice to go, "Ah, I have to go now... I love you." As she pushed open the door a bit further, she realized a boy was sprawled over the floor, "ah crap, what to do, what to do... I could leave but he probably would've already noticed I'm 'ere..."

Sora was so wrapped up in his own thoughts that he wouldn't have even heard if Emi walked onto the roof and surprised him. Why was he even here? He thought tiredly. The obvious answer was to make money to send it back to Emi, but... he hadn't been making much money lately. He was thinking about joining that stupid host club that he had heard people talking about. It seemed like a fun job. Talking to girls, making them happy for money? Seemed like a great gig.
Groaning, Sora dragged him upward and glared at his bow tie that was dangling half off of the edge of the roof top. "Fuck." He hissed as he reached to get it. He didn't have another one of those things, if he lost that one.... it would suck. To anyone else it might have looked like the boy was ready to take the swan dive, but... he knew better.

Suddenly the boy got up, and from Arlette's view, it looked like the boy was going to jump. He was headed to the edge. 'What the hell,' Arlette muttered as she broke into a sprint.
If the boy was truly going to jump, she didn't know why -hell, she didn't even know the boy- she needed to stop him before he became a splatter on the asphalt below. "Hey! Stop! Don't jump!" Arlette was yelling by the last word, not really knowing how loud as was as she approached the boy, throwing her arms over the boy and pulling him back. "Don't jump..."

"Hey! Don't jump!"
'Jump?' He thought confusedly as he finally took hold of his bow tie. He spun around before the girl slammed into him. "What the..." He muttered angrily before he realized who was holding him. The girl was pretty cute.
"I don't mind being in this position with a pretty girl just as yourself but..." He grinned and dangled his bow tie in front of her, "I wasn't going to jump. I was just trying to get this. Sorry to worry you mystery girl." He leaned in closer to her, maybe she could take his mind away from his sister, "Hey, I'm Sora."

"I don't mind being in this position with a pretty girl just as yourself but..." ]The boy had turned and grinned, and Arlette realized she was still holding him. Arlette smiled as she looked at him properly. Blond hair and eyes the most interesting shade of blue, he was easily handsome. "And neither do I, with someone like you."
"I wasn't going to jump. I was just trying to get this. Sorry to worry you mystery girl." He grinned and held up the signature Aozora bow tie, and leaned in closer to her. In the coldness around them, she could feel his warmth and didn't let go, or make any indication she wanted to. "Hey, I'm Sora."
Arlette had a habit of repeating words and names new to her, a habit she had picked up when learning English. "Sora," Arlette said out loud, seeing how the name tasted on her tongue. "Well, Sora," she smiled rather warmly, "I'm Arlette."

Oh, she was interested. This was better for Sora. The thought of her helping him momentarily forget about Emi was originally just a passing thought, but now it might be able to become a reality... if he played his cards right. Sora liked the way her voice sounded, when she wasn't yelling at him.
"Arlette hm?" He smiled charmingly, "Sounds foreign. You from outta town?" Sora slipped his arms away from her waist, his fingers gently pressing against her curves as he retracted. He plopped back down to the floor and patted the space next to him. "What are you doing up here? You seem like a good girl." He almost winced. Skipping class, just like Emi was.

"Arlette hm?" Sora smiled, as he pulled his arms away from Arlette's waist, not before very lightly pressing on her sides. Hmm. "Sounds foreign. You from outta town?" The blond pulled away and sat down, and Arlette joined him in the spot next to him.
"Yup," Arlette nodded, pulling her knees up to her chest. It was more of a habit than something to do to keep warm. Then when she spoke again, she was speaking in her natural accented voice. "I'm from France."
Her eyes looked away for a moment as she tilted her head back, looking at the pale, glowing sun against the pale October sky as the wind swept across the rooftop. "What are you doing up here? You seem like a good girl." Then Sora winced a bit, but it was so fast, Arlette wasn't sure if it was something else, like him shifting his position slightly. With a smirk on her face, Arlette made a sound something between an amused chuckle and a snort. She just hoped it wasn't unglam. "Me? Good girl?" She paused, thinking of what she'd done in her previous school. In terms of both grades and conduct, Arlette wasn't the best, but she wasn't the worst either. "Sort of, relatively, but not really. Not really."
Arlette's pale brown gaze met Sora's once more. "So, what're you doing up here, lying on the rooftop anyways? The floor must've been pretty cold, aha."
(ooc: OTL sorry if it's long.)

The blonde boy watched as the girl pulled her thin legs up to her chest, and glanced his eyes away as her skirt lifted up. That was odd for the young boy but... he was in a weird mood today. "French? That's...nice." He was trying to think of ways to woo this Arlette but he just couldn't find the right words. Inwardly he groaned and lied on his back, ignoring the pain from his bruises.
"So a good girl, but not really." He half smiled, "I'm a good boy, but not really." turning his head, he gave her a little wink, holding her gaze. He thought back to the events that had happened over the pass few days. Almost ruining a relationship, but also kinda helping them piece it back together. Well... he tried at least. Emi wouldn't be proud, actually she might be but, damnit. Sora didn't want to think about her right now.
Sora yawned, breaking Arlette's gaze and looking up toward the sky, "I just needed to think. This place helps me relax."

"So a good girl, but not really." Sora half smiled, and the corners of Arlette's li[ps just turned up very slightly. "I'm a good boy, but not really." The boy lay down on his back, just like how he was when she walked in. "But not really," She echoed, somehow wistfully.
"I just needed to think. This place helps me relax." Sora said as he looked away from her, and to the sky. Part of him looked so sad, so troubled; Arlette just wanted to gather him up and tell him it was going to be okay. She really wanted to. But very obviously, things weren't all that simple.
"What's eating you, then?" She looked at Sora's face now again that he was closer, and lying down. On the boy's face were shreds of discoloration, and it took her a moment to realise they were bruises, healing, like the ones she'd gotten before by doing stupid things back home. "And what happened here?" She asked quietly, pointing closely to the injury on his face, but not close enough for her fingers to meet his skin.
(ooc: assuming some of his bruises were on his face?)

"What's eating me...huh." He repeated to himself, still looking up at the sky. He was thankful for the small amount of clouds that had covered the sun because he didn't have to squint to look up into it. A better question would be what isn't eating me. He thought almost bitterly/ Who was this girl anyway? Did she really expect him to just.... answer truthfully? He wanted someone to talk to but... not some complete stranger. "I don't really know." He answered. It wasn't entirely a lie, he didn't know what exactly was the matter, what circumstance upset him more. His sister, or this whole homewrecker attitude.
He shrunk away from her reach, "I got beat up by Ren Yukio, I hit on his girlfriend." Sora shrugged.

"I don't really know." came his reply, and Arlette remained silent, and shrugged a little bit, as if in some sort of reply. She honestly did not really know what to say. She knew the guy for only, like what?, less than a day; she didn't really have the right to push it.
Then Sora explained his bruises, and Arlette pursed her lips for a moment. "You... did you mean to? Hit on her?" She would've said more, asked more, but then had to remind herself she wasn't anyone to say or ask anything much more. Then after what seemed like ages, she added, "dude's a jerk."
