characters: chiaki yuzuru and prim matsuyuki! time: like, 4:30 p.m.? Somewhere around there~ location: the stage The sound of Chiaki's CD player could be heard in the hallway, even when the door was closed, everyone's favourite slice of sickeningly adorable J-pop blasting everywhere as he sung along and tried in vain to mimic the adorable dance steps displayed in the music video. It was, after all, one of the cutest songs ever and while he could sing it flawlessly - lower, of course, than her high-ass voice - it was lacking without its signature moves. Crap, he thought to himself as he fell on his ass, his legs twisting together awkwardly during a transition. "That really hurt!" Chiaki stood back up and dusted himself off before pressing the replay button. Kyary blasted at him once more - this endeavor felt more and more futile the more he tried, but he couldn't give up yet, not while the song haunted him both in the waking world and in his dreams. It was her fault for making it so goddamn catchy that he couldn't help but have to learn the dance, too. Chiaki faced forward as he continued to flail about awkwardly; his footsteps were shitty and he danced sort of like an arthritic walrus, but hey, at least he remembered to pat his tush twice. He had finally sort of gotten the hang of one of the steps when his foot slipped over the edge of the stage and he fell to the ground headfirst, gasping as the impact knocked the air out of his lungs. "Oops..." he wheezed, trying to get himself to stand back up. Nothing hurt in particular; he was just winded, that was all. { if you don't know what dance/ song I'm talking about, it's THIS asldfkjasdl omg I apologize for this }

Prim wandered the halls of Aozora, a smile lingering on her face. This was one of her favorite things to do. Take walks, think about things; because sitting still in her dorm or anywhere made her anxious. She remembers wandering the halls of the Matsuyuki estate when she was younger. No one to play with but her imagination. She was in a foreign land, searching for treasure. She would come across a portrait on the wall of her grandmother in one of her beautiful gowns, twirling on a stage. No, this wasn't her grandmother, it was a fairy! Silently hinting her towards the treasure.
Of course she was in a new land now. One's filled with unknown creatures. Boys and girls, all wearing the same cloths. They were all gifted, and all very unique and different. Prim was one of these creatures now, a student at this school. She had never really seen other creatures like her. Sure her mother would have one of her friends over and she had play dates with their kids, but she never quite knew how to interact with them. She was bread in captivity and had been released into the wild.
Her thoughts of foreign places and strange creatures were interrupted by a poppy beat coming from the door leading backstage. Drawn to the music, her feet made their way closer to the entrance. As she got closer she recognized the j-pop song and her fingers started moving to the rhythm as she opened the door quietly, trying not to disturb whoever was performing. She saw a lone boy, belting out the lyrics to the song and clumsily attempting to dance. He fell, but got up and attempted again. Prim giggled at the scene, covering her mouth to mute the sound. She could tell the boy wasn't a dancer. He lacked the grace in movement, but he sang perfectly on pitch.
The boy clicked replay the music started again, filling Prim with warmth and joy. She would either let out a shout of joy or start dancing. She tiptoed onto the stage, a few yards back from the boy who still hadn't realized she was there. She was carful not to let him know her presence. They were the same species of creature, but she snuck onto the stage like he was prey. She didn't plan to pounce, but she couldn't be sure that he wasn't the predator only preoccupied from the hunt at the moment. She caught on to his steps and mimicked him with ease. This would be a dance her private dance instructor Isabella would teach her when she was younger. These were simple steps to Prim, but she was enjoying dancing with this boy regardless. Even if he wasn't aware of her.
Letting the music take control of her movement, she added her own flare to the choreography. Prim almost didn't realize the boy tumbling off the stage until she heard him gasp and watched his body topple to the ground. A squeal left her mouth, quickly clamped by both of her hands in worry. "Oops..." she heard the boy barely get out as she jumped off the stage and down to where he struggled to get up to his feet.
"Are you all right?!" She frowned, concerned for boy. She knew nothing about him, but she knew it would hurt for her to take a face plant like that. "Here, come sit down. What hurts?" Prim took his arm, offering support as she helped lead him to a seat in the auditorium facing the stage.

Chiaki heard what sounded like footsteps from behind him as the tape cut off - had someone else been there? He'd been too fixed on forcing himself to be coordinated for once that it was entirely possible that a person behind him could have slipped underneath his radar. Finally he regained enough of his strength to sit up a little, and when he turned his head behind him his suspicions were vindicated - there was a girl jumping off of the stage, walking over to him. Where did she even come from?
"Are you all right?!" She was frowning, unmistakably concerned. "Here, come sit down. What hurts?"
Chiaki let her lead him over to a seat in the auditorium, still too dazed to speak correctly. Exhaling, he slid into the seat, slouching immediately. He blinked and took another look at the girl - she was pretty, but unfamiliar. They hadn't met before. "Y-yeah, I'm okay!" Chi smiled up at her, nodding his head to reinforce the statement. "Thanks for helping! I'm kind of a bad dancer.." He blushed a little bit - she must have seen his faceplant, all of it, right? Again, he wondered how long she'd been there; it was strange that he miss a key detail like that. Chiaki looked up at her, his eyes wide as dinner plates, and asked, "Are you an angel? Where did you come from?"

She towered over the boy who slouched down in his seat. She didn't know exactly what to do. Prim didn't want to touch him cause that might hurt him more, she didn't want to go get help and leave him there if things were really bad. She kept her look of concern as the boy caught his breath, "Y-yeah, I'm okay! Thanks for helping, I'm kind of a bad dancer.." Color came to his face and she sighed in relief that he was alright. A short giggle came out of her mouth as she thought about the boy's dancing again. Even the surprise of his fall was a little humorous now that she knew the boy wasn't hurt.
He seemed to have caught his breath now and was completely aware of Prim and his surroundings now. His face grew to life and his eyes widened as he looked at her "Are you an angel? Where did you come from?"
The question caught her off guard. Why would he think I was an angel? She grinned, taking it as a compliment. "I'm not an angel, I'm Prim!" She curtsied and plopped into the seat next to the boy, still grinning at him. "I heard your music and wanted to dance with you. Well... you looked so determined that I didn't bother you, so I danced behind you. And then I saw you fall and got worried. You're a really great singer, by the way! I bet that's your major, isn't it?" She bit her bottom lip a bit. She knew she was talking way too much. She hadn't even given him a chance to introduce himself before she had released her excitement. 'Stupid Prim!' She mentally face palmed her forehead, returning her full attention back to the boy beside her.

"I'm not an angel, I'm Prim!" The girl grinned at his angel comment, a bit eager as she curtsied and sat down next to him. Prim, huh? That was kind of a strange name - just where on earth had this girl come from? "I heard your music and wanted to dance with you. Well... you looked so determined that I didn't bother you, so I danced behind you. And then I saw you fall and got worried. You're a really great singer, by the way! I bet that's your major, isn't it?"
Chi smiled back at her, not saying a word as she talked. Prim was a really talkative girl, it seemed. All the better to have conversations, he supposed; her positive energy rivaled even his. "I'm Chiaki!" He bounced up and down in his seat a little, restless. "And yeah, I'm a singing major! I can't dance, as you kind of saw, but I play the piano, so that makes up for it! Kind of, anyway."
He stared at her for a moment, his index finger placed lightly against his lips. "Hmm... Prim, huh? That's an interesting name, are you from here?"

"I'm Chiaki!" The boy rustled in his seat, "And yeah, I'm a singing major! I can't dance, as you kind of saw, but I play the piano, so that makes up for it! Kind of, anyway." Prim relaxed a little more. Chiaki seemed to want to talk to her just as much as she enjoyed talking to him. Could this be her first real friend besides the servants at home or her dance instructor who were pretty much hired to like her? She could almost feel the smile growing on her face, a lightness filling her body.
The boy looked like he had more to say but just sat there looking at her for a while. Prim cocked her head to the side clueless as to what was running through his head. "Hmm... Prim, huh? That's an interesting name, are you from here?" Her face scrunched up in concentration, her head still cocked to the side. She had never really though about her name. "Well, I was born here..."She said aloud, still lost in her memories and thoughts. Then she remembered something a nanny had told her once as they passed her grandmother's portrait in her house and her thoughts flowed from her mouth, " My Grandmother was from London! But I know my dad's family grew up here... One time, my dance instructor Isabella told me about this flower called a Primrose. She says that my parents named me after that flower, I think. I don't know why they dropped the rose part though. I never thought to ask them." She sat up in her seat and put her hand on the arm rest separating Chiaki and herself. Her index finger slightly moving across the material as if she was tracing an invisible picture. More like they never gave me the time to ask them. The thought ran through her head, but escaped just as quickly as it came, giving her attention to Chiaki.

Chiaki watched as the girl furrowed her brow, concentrating on one thought or another. She seemed sort of 'out there', but nice, too - he was a fairly good judge of character and Prim seemed to be a nice person. "Well, I was born here," the girl began, head cocked a little to the side. "My Grandmother was from London! But I know my dad's family grew up here... One time, my dance instructor Isabella told me about this flower called a Primrose. She says that my parents named me after that flower, I think. I don't know why they dropped the rose part though. I never thought to ask them."
A dancer, huh? Chi thought about it for a second and realized that it made sense for her to have joined him, if dancing was her passion. And Primrose? Duh, the flower! It was so obvious - especially when his sister was a hardcore gardener - but the arbitrary dropping of the 'rose' had thrown him off a little. "London? That's so far away! And you look so different from everyone else - not in a bad way - but it's like, I knew your lineage thingy wasn't totally from here? If that makes sense? But you've been dancing for a while, right?" He sat up in his seat, beaming. "Wow, that's so cool! I wish I could dance, but my feet have other ideas..." He made a face at his feet, not pleased with them at the moment.

"Yeah, I know! But I've actually never been there... My mom moved here when my grandmother died and I guess we've been here since," She told Chiaki, who looked almost excited. She almost felt like she was letting him down that she had never actually been outside of Japan. She never even really noticed that she LOOKED different from people around here. Well, she hadn't seen many people around at all besides the ones that would venture to her estate. "But yeah, I've been professionally trained for 10 years, but one of the maids tells me I was dancing before I could even walk."
She smiled when she saw the attentitive look on his face. He went on, "Wow, that's so cool! I wish I could dance, but my feet have other ideas..." Prim watched as he looked at his feet, like he wished he was born with a different pair. "But you have a great voice! You don't even want to hear me try to sing on pitch," She made a silly disgusted face, trying to make him fell better, "Besides! I can teach you how to dance to that song if you'd like. Sometimes it's easier to learn from a teach instead of mimicking moves on a screen." Prim reached out and touched his knee, as if she believed she could grant him magical dancing powers.
