Character(s): Hibiki Mitsuki, Rie Hanazawa and anyone else~ Time: 1:00 PM. Location: Cafeteria
The cafeteria was crowded. Too crowded. It made Hibiki frown as she tried to get in line to get something to eat. With all the taller students, and larger teachers, her small frame was easily pushed aside, making her want to scowl at them - if she could ever get their attention. Finally making it to the line after pushing aside the taller students, she grabbed a tray, and thought of the mouth watering German Chocolate Cake she's been eying in the lunch room for a few days. She was finally giving in, and as the line kept moving, her eyes became wide and bright. There was only one slice left. It was meant to be."Move already," she mumbled, not really wanting the people in front of her to hear her, but wanting them to listen to her command. She was so close, yet so far away, and she could barely take it any longer. The cake has to be hers.

Rie sat at the table by herself near the front of the cafeteria, where no one ever ate because of the crowdedness. She didn’t care though, as long as she had a large surface to place her lunch and enjoy the food. Today seemed to be especially busy since the harsh September weather meant nobody chose to eat outside.
With a gleaming grin on her face, the pink-haired teen stood up holding a plastic bag and tipped it over, emptying all of its content onto the table. Chocolate bars, candy packets, cakes and lollies rolled out with a loud rustle and sprawled across the table. Students sitting nearby turned to look at the disgusting amount of snacks and exchanged knowing glances, although Rie chose not to notice. Her eyes feasted on the rainbow of wrappers as she giggled to herself in excitement.
Idly looking up, Rie spotted the last bit of chocolate cake just waiting for her. The girl dropped the candy in her mouth before running of her seat to the male stood at the diner, ignoring the queue of people watching. She pinched at his uniform in order to get his attention. “That…” She pointed to the tray with the sole piece of cake, still clutching the stranger’s blazer. Her gaze was so fixated on the dessert, she couldn’t form a decent sentence.

Hibiki was so close, if she had grown a little more (and drank that milk that her parents had told her would help in the future - curses to them being right) she could have reached the slice, but as a tall girl ran out of her chair and into the line. Right in front of the person standing between Hibiki and the last slice of cake. The short girl's eyes widened, as she watched the male figure hand her the slice.
He handed the tall pink-haired 'bimbo' her slice.
Hibiki quickly jumped out of the line, and put her hand on the girls wrist. Her eyes were like daggers, as her voice was low and deep.
"I'm sorry, but that piece is mine."

Rie paid no attention to the boy , he almost didn’t exist as she felt the soft, warm texture of the cake through the tissue. Sniffing the chocolate aroma, Rie giggled to herself and spun on her heel to skip back to her mountain of sweets. “Yummy yummy~!”
A sudden grasp on her wrist snapped the teen out of her daze, "I'm sorry, but that piece is mine."
She stared down at the new face, trying to put together what was going on. “Huh?” The person clinging onto her wrist was a girl, pretty and petite, but at the minute her brows were wrinkled together with anger. It reminded Rie of those Chihuahua dogs her Dad’s wife had, they were cute but so unfriendly.

The slender female stared down at Hibiki, the look in her face slightly puzzled. It irritated Hibiki more than she let on, as she tried to act more calmly. It was a hard task, but since she was in a new environment, the chances of her getting away unscathed in any way were subside.
Moving a hand to wipe her bang, she repeated herself. "That piece of cake is mine."
She had waited in line, and she had dealt with the crowded line for that slice. It might have seemed crazy to others, but that was the only thing Hibiki could crave and beg for. Something sweet and somewhat bitter, to keep her drive alive.
In a second, Hibiki was reminded of her best friend. She could hear his laugh and his teasing voice to tell her to just let it be. It almost brought her to tears, since she knew he wouldn't want her to get in trouble over one slice of cake, though she knew that the girl probably couldn't really hurt her.
Explain yourself... Don't just demand things...
Hibiki sighed, not knowing why there was this voice in her head telling her what to do, but she listened. "I was waiting in line for that line for that slice for a while now."

The taller teen stared a little longer as she processed the information, before smiling with a small hum and handing her the slice. “Sorry, I didn’t know.” She figured she would rather make a new friend than devour an extra portion of dessert. This new face seemed so determined for that slice, Rie admired it. The gleam in the smaller girls’ eyes and sudden sigh gave away her struggling train of thought. "I wonder what's wrong with her..."
She looked around the cafeteria and smacked her lips. “My name’s Rie. What’s yours?”

Hibiki was surprised that she easily gave back the cake. She wasn't sure if there was an ulterior motive, but she blinked, holding the cake. A small smile crept on her lips, but fell as she realized that someone was watching and talking to her.
"My name's Rie. What's yours?"
She stared at her eyes, realizing that she was actually genuine. It was weird, and Hibiki glanced away, staring at the cake as she introduced herself. "I'm Hibiki."
Rie. That was a pretty name. Short, to the point, but something that would stay in your head. It fit the girl well, Hibiki noticed, but she wouldn't say any of this aloud. She watched the girls reaction. "What are you here for, Rie?"

Rie noticed the girl’s glimpse of a smile, and decided to return a much bigger one. From what she could see, Hibiki seemed nervous in the situation. “Maybe she just isn’t used to the school yet…”
“Hibiki… That’s pretty…” Rie sounded dazed as ever, trying to think how she could break through the brunette’s guarded exterior.
"What are you here for, Rie?"
The taller female giggled at Hibiki’s offensive tone, glad she was curious to find out more. “To do my favourite thing in the world, of course~” Rie sung and spun around, placing a hand lightly on the small girl’s back. “Behold!” She shifted the attention to her pride and joy; the feast of multi-coloured desserts. It stood out amongst a sea of navy uniforms and black food trays, but Rie wasn't embarrassed at all.
“Join me, Hibiki!~” She clenched her fist and flashed a determined smile, maybe the change in character would encourage her new friend to loosen up a little. Not to mention she was getting hungry at the smell of her lost chocolate cake.

Hibiki blushed at the comment, not used to people actually complimenting her on something like her name. When she's lived with the same people almost all her life, it wouldn’t really happen, though. If it did, then that was just a tad bit weird.
The smaller girl was taken back a bit by the rose-haired girl, not really meaning what she was doing here in the cafeteria, but... She let it go, as she was distracted by Rie's display of assorted treats. Her mouth started to water, almost forgetting about the chocolate cake – almost.
“Join me, Hibiki!~”
...Perhaps staying for a bit while I eat the cake... won't be that bad..., Hibiki mused, nodding slowly. Why not..?
“Okay...” She placed the cake down and grabbed a seat, glancing around at the other people in the cafeteria. This was weird – this girl was so happy and peppy, yet she was inviting Hibiki to eat with her. Doesn't she have other friends that she would rather hang out with...?
Hibiki decided to stop questioning it, as she realized she might truly be making a friend. She never knew someone that had such a sweet tooth like herself, actually. It was like a genuine dentist's worst nightmare, while a greedy dentist, who loves the medical bills of children with decaying teeth, greatest dream – depending on which way you were looking at it.

The teen cheered as Hibiki took a seat and rushed over to sit right across the table from her. When she saw the size of her companion’s lunch, Rie feigned a look of horror. “More!” She pushed a hearty portion of her feast towards the brunette’s side of the table. “Good stuff makes you grow~” she added with a wink.
Most people found Rie’s estranged personality off-putting, so they kept a distance. She didn’t care about appearances and reputation, she did everything at her own pace. Unwrapping the top off a single strawberry lolly and placing it in her mouth, the pink-haired teen closed her eyes in bliss as the taste of sugar met her taste buds. Not many things got her excited like this, friends and desserts was a killer combo though.
When she took another glance, Rie noticed her friend seemed a bit taken back, if not zoned out. Always the nosy character, the teen didn’t hesitate to ask her what was wrong. “What are you thinking about?” She leaned further over the table and rested her head in her hands, looking at the girl dreamily. It was quite creepy.
