Character(s): Kiri Fukkiru, Rin Okumura, And anyone else who wants to jump in! Time: Late evening Location: Library
Kiri sighed, disappointed in the fact that her math homework wasn't going to do itself. She sat alone at a large table towards the front of the library, facing a window that she would often look up at as she worked; The sky was a golden color, slowly starting to fade into red as the sun set. "It's getting late! I need to start studying or I'll be up all night again!" Kiri mumbled to herself.
The girl flipped open her notebook, skimmed through a few pages and found today's lesson. Or at least some of today's lesson. Only about half of the page made any sort of sense, the rest was covered in doodles of cats, elephants, monkeys, and the occasional narwhal. Kiri read through the page a few times as her brow furrowed and lips frowned- This was her 'I'm trying to understand it but it just isn't working' face. She finally let out a moan and let her head drop to the table, making a loud thud. She dropped the pencil in her hand and watched it roll off the table and fall onto the ground. "This is useless," she mumbled, "I don't understand this at all."

Rin was slowly making his way through the aisles of the library, searching for Shakespeare's plays. He enjoyed reading about plays in his free times, and it was high time that he read the Merchant of Venice. He'd been putting that off for ages, what with classes, theater, and his one-day-a-week cooking job. Rin whistled quietly to himself, hoping he wasn't disturbing anyone.
He eventually found the play he was looking for and he walked to the checkout section, prepared to walk back to his dorm and do a little more studying before falling asleep that night. Rin turned his head and observed the whole library before spotting a lone girl sitting at a table by herself.
Curious, Rin stopped in his tracks. She's all alone. She kinda looks a little frustrated too. He observed her notebook sitting on the table, and put two and two together. Homework, then. Time to be a gentleman and help her out! Rin confidently strutted to the girl and sat down in a seat next to her.
"Hey there. Having a bit of trouble?" Rin asked, smiling. "Oh, right. I'm Rin. Okumura Rin."

Kiri quickly sat up, startled by the sudden introduction, "Uh-ummm! No, no, no, no! I'm fine!" She looked around frantically for her pencil for a minute, then remembered it had fallen on the ground. The girl reached down to the floor and snatched the thin piece of wood off the ground. She started nervously flipping through her notebook again, occasionally letting out a small, half-hearted laugh, before she glanced over at Rin.
"... You're not buying any of this, are you?" She sighed, then stuck out her hand. "I'm Kiri Fukkiru, and I suck at school work. Nice to meet you," she smiled, "Acting isn't exactly my forte either."

Rin could tell that this girl seemed nervous by his sudden appearance. He offered another friendly smile after seeing her dive to the ground for her pencil. He watched the pages of her notebook as she flipped it, noting all the numerous doodles she had drawn. Rin was slightly astounded too; the doodles seemed to be infinite!
He focused back on the girl and shrugged. "Math's not my favorite subject, but I can help you out there," he said. "Nice to meet you too, Kiri. I don't believe you suck! No one can suck at homework," Rin laughed, pulling out his own math homework from his backpack.
"If acting's not your forte, then what is? From your doodles, I'd guess you're an art major or something," Rin noted, nodding at her notebook. "But then again, Aozora doesn't offer an art major." He placed the Merchant of Venice below his chair. Rin could get back to that later.

Kiri watched as Rin pulled out his notebook. It wasn't often that she asked for help on anything, but maybe it would be a good idea to take it, seeing as she didn't understand the lesson at all.
"I'm a vocal major. Singing's about the only thing I'm good at," she laughed, "I love to draw but I don't have anywhere near the talent to major in it."
Kiri watched as Rin placed the book under his chair, "Shakespear? Are you an acting major...? I-I'm not keeping you from anything, am I? You really don't have to help me if you want to go read or something!"

Rei wandered into the library hoping to find something to help him with his own novel. As he began looking around remembering why he hated libraries and why he was the math teacher instead of English he saw two students sitting together with notes out. Curious what they were up to, he decided to find out.
As he approached them he smiled. Seeing the pages of half-written math notes/half doodles his smile became more amused and he couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "Hello there you two, I noticed you looked a bit confused and I thought I would see if I couldn't help." he offered, his smile returning to it's friendly state.

"Singing. That's pretty legit," Rin commented, proceeding to pull out his pencils and erasers from his backpack. He made a mental reminder to himself to organize his backpack; it was like a black hole that simply sucked in all his school crap. "I think your doodles are pretty good," he added on absentmindedly, multitasking in removing objects and the like from his backpack while also listening to Kiri.
"Sorry if it seems like I'm not paying attention, I just have too many things in here-," Rin said, frowning as he tried to find his sharpener.
"Yeah, I'm an acting major here. Shakespeare's one of my favorite playwrights," he smiled, looking up from his backpack predicament. "You're not keeping me from anything. I like helping other people. You seem like a really nice person too," Rin's smile formed into a grin and he laughed. "I should get my homework done anyways." It was true though. Rin honestly liked Kiri and thought she seemed like a friendly person. I wonder what year she's in. Is she in second year like me? Rin thought, glancing at her.
Rin looked up to see an older man telling them, "Hello there you two, I noticed you looked a bit confused and I thought I would see if I couldn't help."
"No, sir, we're doing well," Rin said respectfully, bowing his head in greeting. He hadn't seen this teacher. Or, well, Rin had and simply forgotten.

"Ahhh! Acting! I really wish I could act. I've always loved to go to plays when I was younger, though they were mostly musicals," she said, watching Rin dig through his backpack. "If you need to, you can borrow some of my supplies. Take it as a thank you for helping me," She grinned. "You seem pretty nice too! I've been so busy trying to get settled in that I haven't had much of a chance to meet people," she said with a bit of a laugh.
"Hello there you two, I noticed you looked a bit confused and I thought I would see if I couldn't help."
Kiri looked up at the older male, "Mr. Renjiro!" She bowed her head respectively. "W-we were just doing our homework, ah-hah..." She tried leaning further over the table and hiding her notebook from the teacher. I hope he hasn't seen my notes! W-what if he knew I doodled in class!?
"U-uhm, I'm a bit confused about math..."

When he saw the girl get flustered and try to cover up her doodles he put hand up to his face and laughed briefly. "It's okay, I drew in my math class when I went through high school."
Rei raised an eyebrow as their answers conflicted. The boy said they were fine but the girl was confused about math. He shrugged. "Well, luckily I'm the math teacher, you know if you need help, you can always come to me, I'm not here to just throw work at you and expect you to immediately be able to do it. What do you seem to be struggling with?"

"Sir, I'm sorry, but I don't know your name," Rin told the teacher, bowing his head again. "I was just going to help Kiri-san with her homework but I got a little caught up in my backpack," he laughed, pointing at the mess he'd created in his pack. "I'm Rin. Okumura Rin, sir," Rin said, formally introducing himself. He was curious to who this teacher was. Rin had never seen this teacher around school before.
I wonder what he's doing in the library, Rin thought, glancing at the teacher. And how does Kiri know him?

"Sir, I'm sorry, but I don't know your name,"
"Oh, of course! That was rather rude of me, I'm Rei Renjiro, and as you already know, I'm the math teacher." He said and smiled at the boy. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Rin."
"I was just going to help Kiri-san with her homework but I got a little caught up in my backpack,"
"Ah, yes, of course. Well, should you have any problem with it, I will be here, in the library, a while longer, I think." He said and then mumbled something under his breath about how he'd 'be here forever anyway, trying to find the book he was looking for in this place.'

"Ehh, I'm a bit confused on everything, but I think Rin-kun will be able to handle it. He at least seems like he knows what he's doing," Kiri joked, adding a little giggle at the end.
"Thank you both for your help! I'm not used to it at all, haha. If we need any extra help, we'll be sure to come to you, Renjiro-sensei." Kiri grinned widely, Everyone here is so friendly... Maybe I won't flunk out after all! The thought made her grin even wider.
