Characters: Ayame Natsuri, Hiroya Kouno, others! Time: 8:30pm Location: Student Lounge
The day had been exhausting. Dating Ren was a lot like babysitting lately. Of course she loved him, and being with him, but he was a handful after all, and she needed a break. Kettaro didn't seem to have the same problems with Atticus, and Mayumi wasn't really one to relate either.
Slouching in the chair in the lounge, she found herself unable to get into the book Chiaki had loaned to her. She read the words, but they didn't cohere, they just sort of went into her mind, then fell back out. After a few minutes, she set it down and looked around the room. Everyone else seemed to have gone to sleep, and she was the last one awake. Being a nightowl was nothing new, but she'd never been lonely before.
In this case, it wasn't a normal type of lonely. She didn't really wish for someone familiar as much as she wanted to talk to someone she hardly knew, that couldn't judge what she said. Leaning to the side, supporting her tired head with the back of her hand, she stared at the blank wall across from her.
"Men are impossible," she yawned, raising her eyebrows weakly.

The dorm was quiet. The TV was on, but it was muted so Hiro could read his lines...which he'd stopped doing a while ago. He lost himself in thought. He was laying on his bed, mind to restless to sleep. He sat up, and slipped on his shoes, sneaking out of the dorm, trying not to wake his roommate.
He went to the lounge, seeing as that was a place he was able to loud no matter what. But when he made it to the door, he still found himself opening it silently. It was just something about silence. There was no noise right now, he felt he couldn't disrupt it. When he entered the lounge, he saw a the room was entirely empty except for a blonde girl sitting across the room, facing away from him.
Hiro made his way over to her, seeing her stretch and yawn and faintly hearing her speak to herself, "Men are impossible." Hiro let out a soft sight before speaking up, "We're not all that bad." He chuckled, finally making it over to where she was and taking the seat next to her. "At least I'd like to think I'm not!" He grinned.

Just as she was about to fall asleep, a quiet voice came from behind her. "We're not all that bad." it rang, laughing softly. That voice, she knew she heard it somewhere.
She sat up quickly, startled, wondering how long he'd been there. Thankfully she hadn't started to whine to herself about the source of her anguish. Now that would have been difficult to get around. "At least I'd like to think I'm not!" Her expression softened, and she smiled at him as he took a seat beside her.
This boy, Hiroya Kouno, was no stranger. Granted, she'd only ever seen him around campus a handful of times, and in her acting class, and she didn't know much more than his name. However, he had a friendly disposition, and a smooth way of working his way into conversation.
"Hey, Hiro," she greeted weakly, hugging her folded legs against her chest. "I guess I didn't mean men as a whole." She turned to him. "But they definitely are a pain to deal with sometimes." she added, resting her chin on her knees.

The boy couldn't help but smile as his classmate greeted him. "Hi, Ayame." He said softly, still feeling a little odd breaking silence. Hiro sat cross-legged in the chair, listening the girl next to him. "I guess I didn't mean men as a whole. But they definitely are a pain to deal with sometimes." Hiro chuckled again. "Tell me about it." He leaned his head on his right arm, resting on his leg, and sighed.
He looked over at her. "No, seriously. Tell me about it. Everyone needs a good rant every now and then." He smiled warmly at her. "And I'm willing to listen."

"Tell me about it." he retorted, causing her lips to curl up. Finally someone that understood.
"No, seriously. Tell me about it. Everyone needs a good rant every now and then." he said warmly, grinning wholeheartedly. "And I'm willing to listen."
Suddenly feeling a bit under pressure, she smiled back at him, and let go of her knees, letting her feet dangle again. The softness in her smile suddenly turned to a sharp nervousness. "Well," she began. "I guess you could say, being Ren Yukio's girlfriend is comparable to taming a lion." she mumbled. "Or a lion cub, I guess."
Turning back to him, she sighed. "Anyways, what are you doing out?" she asked. "Aren't most students studying or sleeping around this time?"

Hiro couldn't help but laugh, though he quickly quieted himself. "I'm sorry, that was rude of me." He paused for a second, "I just pictured you as a lion tamer. It was funny~" His gaze shifted to the floor, still feeling a little bad about his outburst. "That bad, huh? I'll admit, he didn't seem like nicest guy but..." HIs voice trailed off...he didn't really know where to go from that. "It's not all bad, is it?" He looked over at her, raising an eyebrow.
"I actually just got back in about half an hour ago. I went out to eat with Kakeru." He let out a sigh before continuing, trying not to get back into the slump he was in in his room. "I've been in my room going over lines since then...but I couldn't stay in the silence anymore and I couldn't sleep, so here I am." He said, grinning.

Hiroya suddenly burst out laughing. A bit surprised and startled, she straightened up and peered over at him, raising an eyebrow. "I'm sorry, that was rude of me." He paused for a second, "I just pictured you as a lion tamer. It was funny~" Giggling herself, she nodded. That would be quite an image.
"That bad, huh? I'll admit, he didn't seem like nicest guy but..." HIs voice trailed off... "It's not all bad, is it?
She shook her head slowly. "It's not like that, really. He's just a lot to take care of sometimes. I love him, so it's worth it, but it's always nice to just unwind." she replied, raking her fingers through her hair. That was another nervous habit she'd picked up.
"I actually just got back in about half an hour ago. I went out to eat with Kakeru." He sighed heavily. That was a bit strange. Weren't dates supposed to be...nice? "I've been in my room going over lines since then...but I couldn't stay in the silence anymore and I couldn't sleep, so here I am."
Nodding, she opened her mouth to respond, but nothing came to mind. "Erm, did something go wrong?" she finally asked, a bit worried as to why Hiroya would be so hung up over a date.

"It's not like that, really. He's just a lot to take care of sometimes. I love him, so it's worth it, but it's always nice to just unwind." Hiro was confused now. "He's a lot to take of?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "But...can't he take care of himself? I thought the guy was supposed to take care of his lady. Not the other way around." He said, laughing lightly.
"Erm, did something go wrong?" Ayame looked confused. Hiroya's gaze jolted towards the floor as his cheeks turned a bright red. "W-Well...umm..." Why was he so nervous right now? This wasn't like him. He cleared his throat to clear the nervous shaking and continued, "It was perfect...we were hanging out at park for a while...and then we went into town for some dinner...I walked him back to his dorm room...but...I get the feeling I did something I shouldn't have." He let out another sight, closing his eyes, cheeks turning even darker. "I kissed him...not that that's the bad part! He just...he didn't say anything more afterwards besides 'goodnight' and left. I feel like I did something wrong."
He smacked his hand against his forehead. "And I just rambled, I'm sorry..."

"He's a lot to take of?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "But...can't he take care of himself? I thought the guy was supposed to take care of his lady. Not the other way around."
Smiling nervously, more out of defense than happiness, she cleared her throat. "He wasn't feeling well last night, so I tried to be his nurse. But, we just ended up fighting." she explained quietly.
"W-Well...umm... It was perfect...we were hanging out at park for a while...and then we went into town for some dinner...I walked him back to his dorm room...but...I get the feeling I did something I shouldn't have." I feel like I did something wrong." Hiroya answered, stumbling over his words, tracing his memory for anything he could have done. At the end of his monologue, he slapped his forehead. "And I just rambled, I'm sorry..."
The curve in her mouth turned from worried to sincere. This boy in front of her was dripping with worry and regret, like a puppy left in the rain. "He was probably just as nervous as you were." she finally said, mulling over the way Hiroya described the chain of events. "I don't know Shizuma very well, but I heard he was a little jumpy, so I would assume he just..." Her voice trailed off. Giggling awkwardly, she pulled at her long hair and turned to Hiroya again. "Sorry, I shouldn't really say anything about someone I don't even know." Talking had always been something she struggled with. She knew what to say, but the words never lined up quite right. This was yet another situation.
"Sorry, I really don't know how to calm nerves rather than irritate them further, but don't overthink." she said calmly. "That's the best advice I've got for now."
