Character(s): Mayumi Yoshida & Takuma Amori
Time: 11:30 A.M.
Location: Courtyard
The icy weather was killing her. That morning, Mayumi had tugged on a dark black pair of tights under her uniform skirt and socks, an extra sweater and had nearly worn a pair of gloves, as well, but thought better of it -- it really wasn't that cold, and Mayumi would look ridiculous if she walked in to her classes wearing gloves of all things.
She shivered again, clutching her rapidly-cooling coffee in her hands and glaring at the students kissing on the bench she had planned to sit on. It took nearly everything she had to not storm up to them and dump her beverage on their too-close-for-comfort heads.
Then she wouldn't have any coffee and the bench would be wet. Huffing, Mayumi decided against doing anything of the sort, and turned her glare to the open notebook in her lap.
"Fucking lovesick idiots," she tried to sound angry, but jealousy was radiating off of her.
Sitting on her jacket on the ground like she had been for almost half an hour now, Mayumi had spent the majority of that time scowling at different people and things around her instead of attempting to write anything down.
Her earbuds were in her ears again, her feet tapping to some ridiculous British-sounding rap song that she wasn't even sure she liked at all, and her hands still wrapped tightly around her cup. The dark-haired girl began to nod her head in time with the song.
I get this writer's block,
it comes as quite a shock,
And now I'm stuck between
a hard place and the biggest rock,
The girl smiled at her lap, still feeling incredibly jealous of -- annoyed at -- the fuckheads smooching on the bench about twenty-five feet from her, but the lyrics twisting and tugging at her brain and pulling a smile out of thin air. Looking up again, her gaze swinging to the tree she sat under shedding its leaves and the grey sky, her breath caught in her throat.
Mayumi's eyes had landed somewhere far worse than the kissing couple... The dark haired girl looked up just in time to see the blonde boy -- she had learned his names was Hiro -- that Kakeru had kissed jogging past her. Mayumi's smiled faded quickly, the song she had been listening to changed at the least appropriate time.
Though she had told herself that she wasn't going to be upset or annoyed by that happening anymore -- and instead be happy for the younger boy that she considered a friend -- Mayumi couldn't help but let her heart clench a little. The only person she had expressed any interest towards since coming to this school had kissed a boy... it was hard to deny that that hurt a bit. And though she had told herself that she didn't need someone to like her like that for her to be happy -- or great at what she did --, Mayumi still felt out of the loop.
Ayame was dating Ren, Ren was dating Ayame, Kakeru was kissing a mildly attractive blonde boy, the two on the bench seemed like they were having a good time. Where did that leave her?
Right. Sitting on the ground, notebook open and ready to criticize the world around her, with a cup of too-sweet now-cold coffee. She chuckled once, her mask slipping itself back in to place. Behind that over-confident, never-breaking mask was the only place Mayumi really felt at home anymore. How sad is that?
(OOC: The song she's listening to is THIS. Also, I seem to have forgotten how to be Mayumi, so sorry for the repetitive, crappy starter!)
