Characters: DAIKI <3 Time: 7:30 P.M. Location: The Tunnel of Love Part two of Daisuke's self-inflicted challenge involved being drug through the most cliche foray throughout the carnival imaginable, starting with the restaurants and progressing through the unwinnable games and smelly carnies. There were two things left to do: the Tunnel of Love, and the ferris wheel. The line in front of the former was uncharacteristically long, scores of awkward teenage couples with sweaty, interlaced palms standing in front of Chiaki. Why's it taking Dai so long to go to the bathroom? It had been fun, spending this much time with him, although it had become far more difficult to embarrass the taller boy than it had been in the past. Maybe he'd finally gotten used to the idea of being flirted with? Chi was smiling as he scooted up in line, still waiting for his boyfriend to return from the bathroom. They would have to wait at least ten minutes longer before they could get on the ride, making googley eyes at each other as creepy animatronic machines danced from across the water, singing flat-toned songs about being in love. How, exactly, any of this was romantic was anyone's guess; but hey, at least it was dark and relatively private. "Oh, hello there!" said the guy in front of him, eyes quickly going over his form. He towered over him - not like that was difficult - but he was almost as tall as Daisuke; his face was handsome in a cookie-cutter way, and he was most likely in college, if not older. "What's your name?Chiaki smiled back - he seemed nice enough! "Oh, hi! I'm Chiaki! Why are you in this line alone? Isn't this the tunnel of love?" "My name's Nowaki - and I could say the same for you, Chiaki." The man grinned, stepping a little closer; Chi felt as though that if they were in a shoujo manga he would have been completely covered in sparkles. "Why's a cute boy all alone in the line for the tunnel of love?" He blushed a little despite himself, nervously adjusting the yellow scarf around his neck as a distraction. "U-uh, I'm waiting for Daisuke, my boyfriend. He's off doing.. things." Seriously, where was he? This Nowaki guy came off as a creep - charming, but a creep.

When Chi had first invited Dai on this date, he had to admit.. he a little nervous. He was over everything that happened a couple of days ago, but after that shower he was a little embarrassed to look at Chi lower than the belt. They hadn't done anything extravagent in that shower, but that was probably because halfway through washing his hair Dai closed his eyes and pressed himself as far away as possible.
First it was a dinner, then they had tried -- in vain -- to win each other plushies at those games that Daisuke was sure were rigged. After that they were just walking around aimlessly until they had reached the tunnel of love. Suddenly, Dai had to pee. Bad. The nerves really hit him for this one ride. The very name implied that things happened in that tunnel, and Dai needed to mentally prepare himself. So here he was, hands clutched against the cold plastic of the sink, staring back into his own reflection.
Dai slapped his face lightly, "Daisuke. You can do this. You want to, so... you're going to go in that tunnel and kiss him." Dai figured that he might as well take the first step, to show Chi that he actually was progressing, and it was okay to kiss him. Also... Dai thought it was a good place to have a second first kiss. It was a well known fact that Daisuke Kudo was a nervous wreck when it came to lovey dovey things but for Chi... he wanted to try to be good at it.
All pumped up and excited, Dai left the bathroom and headed toward Chi. He could spot Chi anywhere, the tall boy almost called out to his boyfriend but something stopped him. Something almost as tall, cute, and flirty. Flirting with his boyfriend. Dai's pace slowed, approaching the two quietly. His heart had fallen into his gut, where is twisted painfully. Chi had a habit of causing Dai to feel things he had never felt before, but until now those new feelings were pleasant and enjoyable. Right now he was pissed and sad and another feeling. It was bitter and it raised the hairs on his neck. Who was this guy? And why was he talking to his Chi. Chi is mine. He inwardly growled.
Dai walked up to Chi, smiling even though his mind was clouded with the image of strangling the boy in front of them. "Hey Chi, who's this?" He tried his hardest not to glare, but did so anyway at the new boy.

Daisuke's head popped out among the crowd, incredibly conspicuous as always. Thank god. Chiaki let out a sigh of relief - this guy was creepy, and time spent alone with him could only lead to ruin.
"Oh, Chiaki, I'm sure you could do better than him..." Nowaki said, his voice sultry; his long arm had somehow snaked its way around his neck. Chi stiffened up, not saying anything as Daisuke came closer. What was he supposed to do? It would be rude to tell the tall guy to go away, but being shamelessly hit on wasn't exactly an attractive prospect either.
"Hey Chi, who's this?" The smile on Daisuke's face was completely fake - it masked the annoyance in his eyes, the feral glint. What? Chi'd never seen him like this before; it was kind of scary.
"U-uh, this is Nowaki..." he trailed off, surreptitiously trying to slide out of the giant's grasp. It was no use, he was way too strong. There was panic in his blue eyes - what if Dai thought this whole scene was consensual when it definitely was not? He mouthed the words, "HELP ME", though the jury was still out whether Daisuke was capable of such a thing.
"Wow, Chi. What a scrawny boyfriend," Nowaki mused, placing a finger underneath Chi's chin. "Don't you think you could do better?"
"At least he's not a creep," Chi muttered, contemplating elbowing the man in the ribs so he could escape. Fuck, there's no way I can do that. Pleadingly, he looked over at Daisuke. Maybe help would come from him, he didn't know.

The foreign arm slicked around Chi's shoulders, the way that the kid was speaking to his boyfriend, all of it was making Daisuke shake. His skin felt it was on fire, and not the nice shivery fire that happened when Chi touched him, this fire was unfamiliar and scalding. He had never had a violent thought in his entire life, but right now he was contemplating ripping this Nowaki's arm off of his body.
He was also semi hurt by this display of affection. Chiaki didn't seem to pushing the boy away, so maybe he was -- Chi had snatched that thought right out of his head as he mouthed the words toward him. His heart wrenched again, his hands tightening into fists. Dai wanted to be that strong boyfriend that could save his boyfriend in a time of need, but he knew that he wasn't strong. If he started a fight with this Nowaki he knew he would lose.
"Wow, Chi. What a scrawny boyfriend. Don't you think you could do better?" The creep said placing a finger underneath Chi's chin.
A mini explosion happened in his chest. Rage welled up behind his teeth, his eyes unable to take themselves away from Nowaki's finger. Get you hands off of him he practically screamed in his head as his hand shot out and grabbed Nowaki's hand in his, ripping it away from Chi's chin. His other long arm snatched Chi's shoulders away, "Don't. Touch. My. Boyfriend." He hissed, standing inches taller than the other boy.
He turned around violently with Chi in arms and stormed away from Nowaki. Afraid of what he might do if he stayed.

There was something about Daisuke that was fucking scary - a touch of lethality in his glare, the way his hands had balled into fists. If it weren't for the way his expression had softened - just enough so that Chi knew that the words he'd mouthed had registered - it would have felt as though he was angry at him, too. It's not my fault there's a big creep draped all over me! He tried again in vain to slip out from underneath him. Damn it, why am I so small?
Everything went blurry as Daisuke came after the taller boy, somehow fabricating muscles onto the bones he had for arms so he could wrench Chi free of his grasp. "Hey!" Nowaki exclaimed, more than a little taken aback. "What was that for?"
"Don't. Touch. My. Boyfriend." Dai's voice was little more than a hiss, venom dripping from his tongue, eating through the ground to the earth's core. Now, more than ever, Chiaki was grateful that he'd ended up with such a humongous significant other - even though he was all skin and bones, he still towered over almost everyone. Almost possessively, Daisuke grabbed him by the shoulders, pulling him away from the creepy college boy named Nowaki. I hope I never see you again, he thought, not quite sure what to think of this new side he'd been allowed to see.
"Dai, are you okay?" Chi asked, wincing a little from how hard Dai was gripping his hand. What's wrong with him? He's so mad right now... "He's gone now, I'm sorry. I tried to get away but he was so big and..."

Dai's thoughts had never been so incomprehensible in his entire life. Thinking had always been his thing, he practically lived in the world of his thoughts but right now, everything was jumbled and disheveled. The angry thoughts mixed with sad ones and then took a swing by and asked his jealousy to join the party. He hadn't turned back to look at Chi in what seemed like an eternity, his mind racing with thoughts of going back a murdering that Nowaki for touching what was his.
"Dai, are you okay?" Chi asked, pulling him from his violent thoughts. He winced, and Dai realized how hard he was gripping Chi's hand. He instantly dropped the other boy's hand. Feeling horrible for hurting Chi. "He's gone now, I'm sorry. I tried to get away but he was so big and..."
"Chi, did he hurt you?" the voice didn't sound like his own, and it kinda scared him. Shaking his head back and forth Dai took a step away from Chiaki, "I'm sorry.. for that back there. I didn't mean to embarrass you." He looked down at his fidgety hands, they were still deciding if they wanted to punch Nowaki or wrap themselves around Chiaki's face. He wanted to wipe the scent of the other boy off of Chiaki, wipe any memory.
Taking a long stride toward his boyfriend, he cupped Chi's face into his hands and lifted it to look up at him. Dai pouted, and looked into the other set of blue hues, "I hated that." He confessed, breathlessly. "You're mine, and... No one can touch you like that other than me."

"Chi, did he hurt you?" Again, the harshness, the malice. Chiaki knew that it had never been directed at him, but was nonetheless floored by the difference between the gentle, kind Daisuke he loved and the seething, bellicose one that had left his hand stinging, half-asleep from the pressure. Where had that strength come from? Where had his boyfriend gone? Chi's eyes remained glued to the ground, unable to process what had just happened. "I'm sorry.. for that back there. I didn't mean to embarrass you."
Chi had just enough time to shake his head before Dai cupped his face in his hands, their gazes locking together like they always did. His heart leapt at the pout, at the electricity that followed his touch, at his eyes. "I hated that. You're mine, and... No one can touch you like that other than me."
At this, he smiled a little, slipping out of Dai's hands so that he could wrap his arms around him, burying his head in the fabric of his shirt. Chiaki loved it there - he always smelled so nice, felt so safe. "Same here," he admitted as he squeezed Daisuke from in between his arms, just a little. "I only want you to be like that with me. Just... er... don't kill him, okay? We can go do something else!~ ☆"

Chi slipped his arms around Dai's skinny waist, and everything seemed to start winding down. Dai was beginning to feel more like himself. Everything had stopped being a shade of red, his blood cooled underneath his skin and he could finally focus his thoughts. It took him a couple of breaths filled to the brim with Chiaki's smell, but he was back to being regular old Dai, and regular Dai did not approve of his previous behavior.
Chi was amazing. He had just seen Daisuke freak out, become someone else entirely and he could still stand there with a smile on his face. Trying to make Daisuke feel better. The tall boy felt like shrinking into the ground. His hands trembled, still recovering from the surge of adrenaline, but it was more than that. Daisuke's hands were trembling in embarrassment. He could have settled that whole thing differently, without causing such a scene.
It was that arm, that grin and just... no one was supposed to be that close to Chiaki. Wasn't that some sort of unspoken rule? If someone was taken, you didn't flirt with them. Dai was sure that it was a well accepted rule. The sight had him possessed by some crazy boyfriend who would actually think of murder. Dai couldn't even hurt a fly, how the hell could he be thinking of murder. The whole experience was a lot like the drunken night, but this was worse because Dai was coherent and a part of him was cheering himself on.
"I only want you to be like that with me. Just... er... don't kill him, okay? We can go do something else!~ ☆" Chi smiled, in his little sing song way that Dai always found adorable.
"Something else sounds fun." Dai half smiled, still troubled by what had happened only moments ago. Long arms which were already around Chi's shoulders squeezed, and Dai brought his forehead down into Chi's shoulder. "Hey, Chi.... I'm really sorry. I just...snapped I guess."

"Okay!" Chiaki felt the uncertainty he'd felt earlier melt away as Dai's arms coiled around his shoulders - he was still the same person, that monster had only been a temporary one. Besides, there was no way he could have actually hurt Nowaki; Dai had no muscles whatsoever and rage alone could only go so far. If anything, after the initial shock wore off, it was flooring just how acute his reaction had been - so fierce, so determined to keep ahold of him. Chi blushed as he decided that while this newfound possessiveness was a little scary, it also demonstrated just how much Dai cared in his, 'You're MY Chi,' spoiled kindergartner-esque way. "No, don't apologize! I should have been more forceful, but he was so big, and I don't like hitting people, and..." He trailed off, unable to elaborate further while also making sense. "It was cool, Dai~ Not the angry part, but, um.. it's like, you got that mad for me, y'know? You looked so big and manly~"
He poked Dai in the side with the tip of his index finger - hopefully that would bring out a laugh, a genuine one. On a normal day, Dai would giggle and Chi would stay put, holding fast no matter how hard the other one squirmed. Gosh, he's ticklish, Chi thought with a smirk, poking him again. Maybe this was a bad time, he didn't know, but he was running out of things to say.
"Now, c'mon! There's plenty of stuff to do! Like, um, the ferris wheel... and eating." Chi talked into Dai's chest, his head's favourite place to stay. "Which should we do first?"

The usual pink color rose to his cheeks, and he buried his face into the crook of Chi's neck -- his favorite place. As always, the shorter boy erased all of the negative emotion he had. He was so sweet that Dai could just kiss him, but he wouldn't... He wanted a nice romantic second first kiss. He can't waste it on a 'aw-you're-the-best' kiss.
The tall boy jerked away from the poke in his side, his body reacting naturally, "Hey!" He laughed, squirming, "Stop that! You know I'm ticklish!" He said through his giggles. He never let go of Chi as he squirmed. These were the types of moments that were his favorite. Just smiling with Chi, no problems in sight. He took Chi's hand's captive, and grinned knowing he had won.
"Now, c'mon! There's plenty of stuff to do! Like, um, the ferris wheel... and eating. Which should we do first?"
Dai changed his grin into a smile, wrapped a protective arm around Chi, and tapped his chin in thought. They had passed the shy Daisuke milestone a while ago, Dai was just himself now. His goofy, awkward self, who happened to be crazy for Chiaki Yuzuru. "We did that whole eating thing last date, how about we go on the ferries wheel?" His blue eyes scanned the crowds for Nowaki, but thankfully he was no where in sight. He wanted a night ride with Chi, "I mean unless you want me to get you some cotton candy or something."

Dai's arm was around him - he was smiling, now, and Chi knew that it was real. He thanked god as the usual, carefree atmosphere between them returned, smiling back eagerly. "We did that whole eating thing last date, how about we go on the ferris wheel?I mean unless you want me to get you some cotton candy or something."
"No, let's go to the ferris wheel! ~" Chiaki mused, beaming, having finally made his decision. From what he'd heard, there would be fireworks soon - it would be the mother of all cliches for them to ride it together just then, something out of a storybook. Chi loved everything about that picture.
One way or another their hands found each other, lacing together familiarly. Having hardly dated for more than a month, this intimacy came a little too easily, as if it were meant to be - Chi constantly mulled over thoughts like these, finally able to ascribe his feeling in real life to that of those in his books. "C'mon, let's go!" Chi sang, dragging his boyfriend in the general direction of the ferris wheel. "We don't want to miss the show~"
{omg do you want to end it here and continue to the ferris wheel or slkfajasldkfj Chi's stupid fear is coming up on the horizon}
