Character(s): Hinata Tachikawa and Kakeru Shizuma Time: 8:00pm Location: Dorm 10D
Taking the key out of his pocket, Kakeru lightly put it into the door handle as he twisted it to unlock the door. After unlocking it, Kakeru walked into the dorm and raised his arms tiredly over his head. Today had been tiring and incredibly embarrassing for him, and he simply wanted sleep. Closing the dorm door with his foot, Kakeru lightly sighed and closed his eyes as he let his thoughts wander to the people he had met that day.
After reopening his eyes, Kakeru went to one of the desks to set his keys down on and his messenger bag down on it's chair. Then, he quickly unbuttoned his blazer and threw it onto the chair that he had set his messenger bag on. He really didn't have to worry about his roommate bursting in because said roommate had yet to show up. Meaning if he wanted to walk around the dorm in his underwear, he could. Not that he would, though. The thought was just embarrassing, and Kakeru would never imagine himself being so carefree to do that.
A smile formed over his lips as he unclasped the bow tie that was around his neck. He could finally relax, without having to worry about becoming incredibly flustered or embarrassed in front of someone.

Gripping the strap to his backpack, Hinata sighed loudly as he wandered through the hallways of the boy's dorm trying to find his dorm room. The day had gone horribly for him. The day he actually decided to not skip class for a good long nap, he had to run into some tall jerk who decided to make him the target of his teasing. It was still the beginning of the year, maybe he could transfer classes he thought, raking a hand through his short, messy hair irritated.
He glanced at the door numbers as he walked by them, looking to see where his room was. "10D, 10D..." he muttered to himself, looking for the right room. He stopped when he got a flash of a door with '10D' on it and reached into his backpack to find his key to the room. After a few seconds of shuffling through his bag, he took the key out and unlocked the door to the room. He opened the door to find that his roommate had already arrived before him.
"Yo," He said said as he entered through the doorway, giving a quick wave to the boy. "So you're my roommate right? I'm Hinata Tachikawa. Nice to meet you." He continued as he walked over to the other empty desk to lay his own belongings down. After getting his backpack off and landing it on the desk, he turned while leaning back on the desk to look at the other boy, waiting for his answer.

Kakeru was just about to start unbuttoning his white shirt when he heard the door open. Turning his head sharpy as his cheeks flushed a bright red, he saw a young teenager standing in the doorway. "Yo," Kakeru heard the teenager say nonchalantly as he entered the room. He tossed a quick wave at Kakeru. "So you're my roommate right? I'm Hinata Tachikawa. Nice to meet you."
Watching with pure astonishment at his sudden roommates appearance, Kakeru muttered nothing as his roommate set his belongings down on the desk Kakeru hadn't used. Once the older boy turned around and leaned on the desk, it dawned on Kakeru that he hadn't introduced himself.
"It-It's ni-nice to mee-meet you too, Hi-Hinata. I'm K-Kakeru Shizuma... yo-your uh... roommate.... I-I guess," After somehow getting his introduction out, Kakeru quickly turned around so he wouldn't have to face his roommate. A dark blush crossed Kakeru's features out of sheer embarrassment. So much for not having to worry about getting flustered and embarrassed in front of someone. Once again, Kakeru inwardly cursed his shyness and ability to get easily flustered. Maybe if he weren't so shy, he wouldn't blush so much. Especially in front of other boys, because a boy blushing in front of another boy was... well... awkward to say the least.

Hinata raised his eyebrow, when he turned around and noticed that his roommate held an astonished face with a light blush gracing his cheeks. What he so surprised for? "I didn't think it was that weird that I came into the room."[/i] He thought, confused as to what the boy was so astonished about. A few seconds later, it seemed as if he realized something before he spoke.
"It-It's ni-nice to mee-meet you too, Hi-Hinata. I'm K-Kakeru Shizuma... yo-your uh... roommate.... I-I guess," Kakeru replied, quickly turning his head away from Hinata as his blush darkened. The short boy just got confused further, wondering what he was blushing for. All he did was introduce himself.
Hinata sighed, bringing his hand up to his neck and looking to the side, contemplating what to say next to the other boy. The atmosphere was a bit tense and Hinata disliked it. He was going to have to spend a whole year with boy after all and he would have preferred it if they would be able to be friends. In his opinion, it would make things a lot easier than coming back to a dorm with an uneasy atmosphere every single day.
He supposed, this is where acting skills came into play. He looked back towards Kakeru, giving him a bright smile in an attempt to lighten the mood a bit. "What are you so nervous about? Relax, relax! I'm not that scary, am I?" He said in an upbeat tone with a small laugh. He was good at playing the talkative, fun guy since it's what he always used to do.
" I'm a second year! What year are you in? First?" He continued, trying to strike up a conversation with the shy boy. "Also, what major are you in? I'm taking acting." He spoke, asking the first questions that popped up into his mind.

Turning his head so he could watch Hinata intently for his reply, Kakeru went tense when he heard Hinata sigh and watched as Hinata brought his hand up to his neck and looked to the side. It was then, when Kakeru realized how intense the atmosphere was. It's not like I meant to make the atmosphere like this... I-I was just nervous! And this g-guy is just... Ugh. Kakeru mentally banged his head repetitively against the wall. It was his fault for making the atmosphere so tense, and making Hinata feel uncomfortable all because he himself was feeling completely flustered and nervous.
"What are you so nervous about? Relax, relax! I'm not that scary, am I?" When their eyes met, Kakeru quickly let them trail down to the smile on Hinata's lips. He couldn't believe that Hinata was able to have such an upbeat tone to his voice, considering Kakeru thought that he had made Hinata feel tense and uncomfortable.
Kakeru shakily raised a hand and ran it through his black hair. He was starting to feel incredibly flustered. A light blush flushed his face when he heard Hinata decided to continue talking even though he hadn't replied. "I'm a second year! What year are you in? First?" There was a short pause before Hinata hastily continued to ask Kakeru questions. "Also, what major are you in? I'm taking acting."
Nervously, Kakeru opened his mouth to reply to the questions as he diverted his eyes back to the floor. "I-I'm a fir-first year, l-like you th-thought I-I was... An-And my major i-i-is singing," Kakeru softly mumbled. After saying that, Kakeru could hear his heart thump loudly. He was absolutely nervous for Hinata's reply.

Hinata observed as Kakeru ran a hand through his black hair. He could tell that he was nervous and assumed from the red on his cheeks that he was also embarrassed. Maybe he should feel lucky. At least he wouldn't need to worry about getting into fights or something with such a timid boy unlike if he had gotten some tall, brute who he would have probably constantly gotten into many arguments with. He directed his attention back to Kakeru when he heard the boy begin to speak.
"I-I'm a fir-first year, l-like you th-thought I-I was... An-And my major i-i-is singing," He mumbled so softly, Hinata almost didn't catch what he said. He got up from his position on the desk and strolled over towards Kakeru so he was standing in front of him. He figured, since he was so soft-spoken, it would be easier to hear what he said if he were closer.
"Cool! I hope your first year here goes well!" He exclaimed, patting the other boy on the shoulder as a sign of encouragement. "If you have any questions about something, feel free to ask! Not about singing though. That, you should probably ask a teacher about." He added in cheerily, laughing slightly at his singing comment.

At the sound of feet shuffling, Kakeru's gaze raised from the floor. He was quickly caught off guard at the fact that his short roommate was suddenly standing just a few feet in front of him instead of where he had been leaning on the desk. Why was Hinata standing so close to him? Kakeru felt completely awkward and flustered with his roommate so close. Especially considering he had made Hinata feel uncomfortable when they first met. At least, that's what he thought he made Hinata feel. After hearing the cheerful boy, he wasn't necessarily sure if he had mad Hinata feel uncomfortable.
"Cool! I hope your first year here goes well!" Kakeru tensed as Hinata patted his shoulder while he talked. "If you have any questions about something, feel free to ask! Not about singing though. That, you should probably ask a teacher about." Hinata told Kakeru cheerfully, while also giving a little laugh. Kakeru couldn't help but just stare at him. How in the world had the atmosphere gone from tense to cheerful?
"T-Thank you... H-Hinata. I-I'll k-ke-keep y-your o-offer in m-mind," Kakeru blushed lightly as he mumbled his 'thank you' too Hinata. In Kakeru's mind, he couldn't believe how upbeat his roommate was. Maybe it was better if his roommate was like this. It was much better than the tense atmosphere.

Hinata felt the other boy tense up a bit when he patted him on the shoulder. Kakeru stared at him for a few seconds after what he had said. It made Hinata wonder if he didn't like other people getting into close contact with him. He made sure to take note of that. Hinata didn't want to get into a fight with the boy after all. Hinata took a few steps back so that he was sitting down on the bottom bunk bed. He then turned his attention back to his roommate when he heard him speak up. "T-Thank you... H-Hinata. I-I'll k-ke-keep y-your o-offer in m-mind."
Hinata began to ponder if Kakeru didn't like upbeat people. He considered toning it down a bit, which he didn't really mind doing considering the whole 'happy-go-lucky, fun guy' act was always quite tiring to keep up.
"Good!" He said, smiling more lightly than before. He then brought his hand up back around the back of his neck as he thought about what to say next. The atmosphere was turning a bit back to tense and the black-haired boy didn't seem like the type to be the one to start up the conversations.
"So, uh, did you check out the music room or the recording studio, yet?" He began, attempting to continue the conversation. "I'm not part of the vocal division but I have seen both of the rooms during my first year here while exploring campus. They were both pretty amazing!"

It was silent for several seconds as Kakeru watched Hinata shift on the bottom bunk of the bunk beds. To Kakeru, it seemed that the boy was deep in thought about something. Suddenly, Hinata smiled lightly up at Kakeru, before he opened his mouth to reply. "Good!" Hinata said, a smile was still gracing his lips. Although it was the same smile Kakeru had saw before, he noticed a difference. It seemed much lighter, and looked like it belonged on Hinata's lips.
Kakeru said nothing in turn, unsure of what to say. He watched silently as Hinata brought his hand up and placed it around the back of his neck. Kakeru nervously raised a hand to run it through his pitch black hair as he turned his head to the side. The atmosphere was starting to feel uncomfortable and tense once again. With that being said, Kakeru hadn't a clue as to how to start up a conversation again and hoped Hinata would speak. Thus getting rid of the tense atmosphere.
To his luck, Hinata decided to start up the conversation again. Banishing the tense atmosphere. "So, uh, did you check out the music room or the recording studio, yet?" Kakeru slowly nodded his head after Hinata said those words. He was sure though, that Hinata was too focused on starting and keeping the conversation to notice his head nod. "I'm not part of the vocal division but I have seen both of the rooms during my first year here while exploring campus. They were both pretty amazing!"
"I... I h-have seen t-the music r-room. It-It is e-extraordinary... I ha-haven't seen the re-recording studio th-though," Kakeru scratched his head lightly after he softly replied to Hinata's question. He let out a sigh as he decided to ask Hinata a question. It only seemed fair right? Opening his mouth slightly, Kakeru spoke. "H-Hinata, w-what's t-the stage like? S-Since you're m-majoring in a-acting y-you m-must h-have been there b-before... An-and I was c-curious as to w-what i-it looked l-like..." Kakeru trailed off as he looked back up at Hinata, waiting for his reaction.

"I... I h-have seen t-the music r-room. It-It is e-extraordinary... I ha-haven't seen the re-recording studio th-though," Kakeru answered in a soft voice. Hinata laughed as he placed his hands on the bed to support his weight so that he could lean back a bit. "You should go check the recording room out then. It's got some awesome equipment there, though that's kind of expected from a famous music school, I guess." He said keeping his tone light and playful.
Hinata was about to think of another topic to talk about when Kakeru seemed to beat him to it and asked him a question this time. "H-Hinata, w-what's t-the stage like? S-Since you're m-majoring in a-acting y-you m-must h-have been there b-before... An-and I was c-curious as to w-what i-it looked l-like..." Kakeru asked, trailing off near the end.
Hinata was a bit surprised that he had taken the initiative to ask a question this time but quickly shook it off and smiled once again. One hand went up to the back of his head, ruffling his hair a bit in a thinking manner.
"Hmm, well it's suuuuper big!" Hinata began, flying his hands out to his sides in a way to emphasize how big it was then placing them back to their original position on the bed as he continued. "It's also got a large seating area since that's where all the performances and plays take place. When you're standing on the stage, you can see the whole audience." He added trying to sound somewhat enthusiastic about it but not so much so that it made him sound like an idiot. "It feel's great when you're standing on the stage performing in front of an audience like that."
"You should go see the stage too. Get the feel of it, y'know? Since you're aiming to be a singer, you'll most likely perform on a stage like that one day." Hinata said in an encouraging manner. Since he was the upperclassman, he thought he should encourage the younger boy to try different things and whatnot. That's what upperclassmen do, after all, right?

Kakeru watched as the look of shock on Hinata's face quickly formed into a warm smile. He silently waited for an answer to the question while Hinata seemed to be thinking of one. His face expression to Kakeru looked like he was deep in thought, with one of his hands raised to the back of his head ruffling his hair. Still waiting for the answer, Kakeru decided to take a seat on the chair that belonged to the desk closet to him. It was awkward to stand in front of someone who was sitting, and his feet also hurt terribly from exploring part of the campus.
"Hmm, well it's suuuuper big!" With that beginning, Kakeru saw Hinata's hands shoot out to his sides to exaggerate what he had said. After saying that though, he saw Hinata's hands retreat to their original spot as Hinata continued to talk cheerfully. "It's also got a large seating area since that's where all the performances and plays take place. When you're standing on the stage, you can see the whole audience. It feel's great when you're standing on the stage performing in front of an audience like that."
The way Hinata talked about it so enthusiastically made Kakeru believe that the older teen truly loved what he was doing. Which made Kakeru almost smile on spot. It was refreshing to see someone who enjoyed what they were doing, and to Kakeru, it seemed like Hinata liked acting and preforming. It was Hinata's voice that brought Kakeru from his thoughts, as he looked back up from the floor. "You should go see the stage too. Get the feel of it, y'know? Since you're aiming to be a singer, you'll most likely perform on a stage like that one day. The way Hinata had said that, made Kakeru shift out of embarrassment. Kakeru could tell that Hinata had told him that with the intent of encouraging him to do it.
Nodding his head lightly in agreement, Kakeru's eyes trailed to the ground. "Y-You're r-right... I-I should g-go che-check it out s-sometime. B-Besides, from w-what you s-said, i-it sounds w-wonderful," Kakeru blushed as he awkwardly shifted in the chair. In Kakeru's mind, if Hinata was going to be nice enough to give him encouragement, Kakeru should be grateful enough to take it. Besides, going to the stage did sound fun.

"Y-You're r-right... I-I should g-go che-check it out s-sometime. B-Besides, from w-what you s-said, i-it sounds w-wonderful," Kakeru nodded his head in agreement and directed his eyesight back to the floor. "Good, Good!" Hinata laughed, giving Kakeru a thumbs up.
The orange haired boy actually wasn't too fond of acting. He liked the fact he was good at it so that he could use it to his advantage but he wasn't sure if it was something he'd actually want to pursue. The only reason he was here was because he wasn't interested in anything else either. He was being honest about liking the stage though. It made him feel like he was actually doing something with his life and that made him feel good.
Hinata looked up at the ceiling, running out of things to talk to or question the boy about. After a few moments of more thinking, he directed his line of sight back to the younger boy. "Since I asked so many questions, it's only fair that I let you ask a few," He said, smiling and waiting for Kakeru to speak up.
Despite the fact that Kakeru didn't seem like the type to talk to people very much, he did take the initiative before by asking Hinata a question. So, Hinata decided to take the opportunity to let the timid boy try and lead the conversation for a bit thinking it might help break the ice between the two of them if the boy was able to speak to him comfortably.

"Good, Good!" Hinata replied. Kakeru felt flustered, and shifted uncomfortably as the room enveloped into pure silence. With no idea as to what to say, he simply watched as Hinata tilted his head back and looked at the ceiling. The shy boy concluded that the orange haired teenager was probably wracking his brain for a topic to talk about, before the tense and awkward atmosphere came back. Suddenly, he saw Hinata’s gaze drop from the ceiling and it went back onto the him. Biting his lip, Kakeru waited for him to speak.
"Since I asked so many questions, it's only fair that I let you ask a few," the older teen said, while giving Kakeru a suave smile. For a moment, he felt all the color drain from his face. He hadn’t planned for this situation at all. He sat there momentarily, with his emerald orbs wide eyed. For a few moments, not a thought crossed the younger teenager's mind. However, once the situation fully settled in on him, he felt his cheeks flush from embarrassment as he let his mind soar from thought to thought. What should the raven haired teen ask Hinata? From the way Hinata presented himself, he seemed to be a very open person. Would it offend the upperclassman if he asked about his family, and his life back home?
Deciding on what to ask Hinata, Kakeru nervously fidgeted as he let his eyes drop down to the floor. “R-Right so… uhm… H-Hin-Hinata… W-What’s li-life l-like b-back where you-you’re from?” Kakeru felt his cheeks flare up halfway through his question, and he adamantly stared at the ground with his hands on his knees. After several moments of silence, Kakeru felt like he was obliged to say more. “Y-You don-don’t ha-have to answer if yo-you don’t w-want to though… I-I completely u-understand,” He stammered on while his hands gripped his knees tightly. The boy was setting himself up for the worse situation that could present itself. Though, Kakeru wasn’t necessarily sure what the worst situation could be.

Kakeru's face seemed to go pale when Hinata had suggested that he ask some questions as well. The older boy just watched as Kakeru seemed to be in shock for a few moments, before he seemed to realize what was going on. He then seemed to panic a bit, racking his mind trying to come up with a question to ask Hinata, another blush rising up on his cheeks.
Hinata honestly thought the other boy was slightly amusing. It wasn't as if he was trying to be mean to the younger boy or something though. it was just the fact that Kakeru seemed to panic at almost everything Hinata did and his face would light up at every situation. He'd never met such a shy boy before but that might have been due to the fact he had never really mingled with students that didn't come talk to him first.
When it seemed as if Kakeru had decided on a question to ask Hinata, he opened his mouth to speak and began fidgeting nervously, looking back towards the ground as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.
“R-Right so… uhm… H-Hin-Hinata… W-What’s li-life l-like b-back where you-you’re from?” Kakeru asked, his cheeks lighting up once again halfway through his question. Hinata took a few moments to think of how to answer the question before Kakeru had begun to speak once again. “Y-You don-don’t ha-have to answer if yo-you don’t w-want to though… I-I completely u-understand,” He added in, gripping his knees tightly.
Hinata started to feel kind of bad for asking Kakeru to take the lead in the conversation since he seemed to be panicking more than usual. He then realized that the boy before him seemed to remind him of a small, scared kitten and covered his mouth before he began to laugh.
"Hmm, well... It was... average, I guess?" Hinata finally said, turning his view back to the ceiling as he spoke. "Going to school, hanging out with friends... playing sports..." He continued quietly mumbling the last part, narrowing his eyes. His face had quickly returned to a smile as fast as it had fallen though. The orange haired boy returned to looking at the other boy, speaking again.
"I have a younger sister, too. Aya. I'd play with her quite often." He finished with a grin. "She'd scold me all the time when she found out I skipped class." Hinata said, laughing slightly as he remembered when the younger sibling would scold and hit him lightly on the arm when one of his classmates would squeal about him skipping class to her.
"What about you, Kakeru? What was your life like?" Hinata asked after he had finished speaking about his life.

"Hmm, well... It was... average, I guess?" After hearing Hinata finally reply, Kakeru let out a small sigh of relief. He was glad that Hinata didn’t feel to uncomfortable with him to not answer the question. He watched as Hinata once again tilted his head back and gazed at the ceiling before continuing. "Going to school, hanging out with friends... playing sports..."
Kakeru had noticed at the orange haired boy had mumbled the last part. He was curious, to say the least, but from the way Hinata had mumbled it with much resentment made Kakeru know that anything related to sports was a touchy subject. Although the raven haired boy didn’t know why and was curious as to why it was a touchy subject, he knew it was best to leave it alone. Well, it was best to leave it alone if they wanted to continue being roommates at least.
Hinata’s eyes suddenly met Kakeru’s and he realized that the older teenager was no longer looking at the ceiling. He continued to speak, a light smile plastered onto his face. "I have a younger sister, too. Aya. I'd play with her quite often. She'd scold me all the time when she found out I skipped class." Kakeru watched Hinata with pure interest as he laughed at the last part, probably remembering pleasant memories of his little sister. To Kakeru, it seemed that his older classmate was very fond of his little sister and most likely loved her very much. Hinata’s life seemed nice to Kakeru, not to many bumps in the road that he couldn’t handle.
"What about you, Kakeru? What was your life like?" Caught off guard by Hinata’s sudden question, although Kakeru should have been expecting it, he stopped to think shortly about his life. It was… simple. Not your average life though, because it wasn‘t average, it was just a simple life. Not one most people chose to live by, actually.
“It was simple,” Kakeru muttered as he scrunched up his nose. The memories of living in the nice apartment on the 12th floor of some building seemed to float back to him with ease. It didn’t hurt at all to remember life with his father and sister because he had enjoyed it to the fullest. He looked to the floor before continuing.
“It wa-wasn’t e-exactly nor-normal… Just… Simple. I-I went to s-school to learn, and t-then went ho-home to do my ho-homework and pra-practice the cello m-most days. I-I didn’t have a-any fr-friends so I di-didn’t h-have to worry a-about socializing…” the boy trailed off as a hand went to ruffle his hair. “B-But like y-you, I-I have a s-sister. T-The only difference is t-that sh-she’s older th-than me a-and often dr-dragged me to some r-random place during s-some of t-the mo-most insane h-hours,” Kakeru let a smile crawl over his face at the thought of his sister, Hisa. He looked up at Hinata and nodded his head. “B-But that’s pretty much it”
