"Of course, he has to meet my boyfriend."
Chiaki loved how those words sounded, coming out of Daisuke's mouth. They probably looked absurd to passerby - two starry eyed boys holding hands in the corner of the mall with a chocolate crepe and various kawaii trinkets strewn about the ground - but he honestly couldn't have cared less.
"I'm okay I guess." Dai said, shrugging. "I would love to sing a duet with you."
"There's no need to be modest, Dai~ You wouldn't be at Aozora if you weren't superduper talented!" Chiaki smiled, wanting his newfound boyfriend to believe in himself a little more. "And okay! We should do it after school, sometime. It'll be really, really fun~"
"So... what sort of books do you like?" Chiaki asked, determined to keep the conversation going. "I like romance novels - BL, specifically. Um.. I like shoujo and shounen ai manga; Junjou Egotist was my favourite~" He really hoped that Dai shared his love for romance novels; but if he didn't, that'd be okay too.
What was the next thing on the list of things he'd said he liked? Crap, video games, Chiaki thought ruefully - he was horrible, awful at those. He lacked the hand-eye coordination and focus to play most of them; save for Pokemon, which was required neither. "Um, as for video games... I suck at them." Chiaki laughed, flushing a little. "But I'd still love to play them with you sometime!~"
{ ooc: not sure if it makes sense for me to mention manga/games in the 'real' world but y'know whateveradslgkjsdaf }

"There's no need to be modest, Dai~ You wouldn't be at Aozora if you weren't superduper talented! And okay! We should do it after school, sometime. It'll be really, really fun~"
"I'm not being modest... I think there is just a lot of room for improvement." He grinned sheepishly. Of course Dai forgot to mention that he was at Aozora on a full scholarship, but... he didn't that that was important information. "I would really like that."
Dai placed his other hand up to his face and leaned his chin against it, smiling as he stared at Chiaki, unable to fully believe that everything happened so suddenly. What even was it that drew the two of them together so quickly? Was it the fact that Chiaki had seen a rare side to him that only came out if provoked? The side of him he wished no one ever had to see, but no... Chiaki had to walk on him changing and turn him into a babbling idiot.
"So... what sort of books do you like? I like romance novels - BL, specifically. Um.. I like shoujo and shounen ai manga; Junjou Egotist was my favourite~"
Did they seriously have this much in common? "I love all sorts of books, but romance is my favorite." That was something Dai didn't care to hide. So what if he liked romance? Who didn't? No one. Even the manliest men secretly love romance.
"Um, as for video games... I suck at them. But I'd still love to play them with you sometime!~"
The thought of him teaching Chiaki how to play video games made him blush. Dai having his arms around Chi as he told him which buttons to press at the right time. "I could teach you if you want. I'll go easy on you." He had no idea that innuendo he had just made.
All this talk about Dai was freaking him out a little bit. Too much of talking about himself made him uncomfortable, he liked listening to others, not talking about himself. "What about you? Tell me about you."

Thoughts of an obscenely romantic duet had begun to float around in Chiaki's mind, and while he knew the real thing couldn't - wouldn't - measure up to his imagination, he had the feeling that it would still be something straight off the page of his books. He was excited in multiple ways.
"I love all sorts of books, but romance is my favorite."
That was it - Daisuke couldn't have possibly been more of his type; though Chiaki very much doubted that the other devoured smutty, vapid novels in the same fashion as him. "Haha, me too~ I've got lots, and I've got a few that you should read~" The books he was planning on lending him weren't too graphic, but hopefully they would help Dai to be just a little less innocent - not all the way, though, because Chiaki genuinely thought it was adorable.
"I could teach you if I want. I'll go easy on you."
Was that... Daisuke trying to make up an innuendo? Chiaki wasn't sure, but the idea of playing video games together was unexpectedly alluring. "Okay! Just don't get upset when I get better than you~" He laughed again, butterflies resurfacing as he thought of all the things they could do together - together, didn't that sound nice? He resisted the urge to swoon.
"What about you? Tell me about you."
Chiaki's reverie was interrupted by Daisuke asking him a question this time - crap. He hadn't thought of anything to say beforehand, he'd been too focused on what to ask the other. "Hm.. About me?" he mused, glancing off to the side as he thought, a little amused that the crepe was still spreading around on the floor. Oh, well, it'd been dropped for a very good reason. "My name's Chiaki Yuzuru... but you know that already. My parents are.. er.. I don't talk to them anymore. Luckily, I've got a big sister named Misaki and she's the greatest~ I'm a singing major, but I'm a lot better at the piano than I am at singing. I like music - duh, haha - and cute things and reading - I'm not smart enough to read anything difficult, but I still do it - and tall boys with purple hair. I get distracted easily. Um.. and I like going on adventures?"

"Haha, me too~ I've got lots, and I've got a few that you should read~"
Dai blinked, "Really? I'd love to read them." Of course Daisuke had no idea what Chiaki could possibly be planning, always thinking the best of others. Unconsciously, Dai rubbed his thumb against the other boy's hand, probably because he was surprised that this was all real. He needed constant contact with the other boy to understand that this wasn't a dream, that Chiaki wasn't a figment of his imagination, because Dai was starting to believe that he might have just slipped in the locker room and was in a blissful coma.
"Okay! Just don't get upset when I get better than you~"
"Yeah yeah, we'll see if that ever happens." Dai laughed, having a great time. Sharing books, talking normally, laughing, this was almost too perfect. In fact, Daisuke was sure it couldn't be anymore perfect than it was.
Wrong.
Chiaki's little about me only made him more perfect for Daisuke. "And the list of things we have in common only grows." His blue eyes drifted to the splattered crepe on the floor before he spoke again, "I'm an only child, but... me and my parents don't talk much either. I mean, my mom is constantly calling but.. I still barely speak to her." A sad smile pulled at the corners of his mouth. He went to address the other parts of Chi until he heard the 'tall purple haired boys' comment. "Have you met any other tall purple haired boys? I was pretty sure I was the only one in the world."

They really did have a lot in common, didn't they? It made Chiaki infinitely happy that he'd met such a great guy in the locker room, however unlikely that may have been.
"I'm an only child, but... me and my parents don't talk much either. I mean, my mom is constantly calling but.. I still barely speak to her."
The sad smile on Daisuke's face was borderline heartbreaking - the topic of his family felt like it was an open wound, and Chiaki felt really, really bad for calling attention to it. He didn't understand who could ever face themselves after making his boyfriend look that sad; but they were just getting to know each other, so he didn't pry any further.
"Have you met any other tall purple haired boys?" Daisuke asked, eyes brimming with the naivete that Chiaki adored more and more with every passing second. "I was pretty sure I was the only one in the world."
Chi laughed, just now noticing the way Dai was tracing circles on the back of his hand with his thumb. It tickled a little, and the skin that he touched felt electrified. He hoped he'd never let go. "Dai, that was kind of the point!" Making a point to keep their fingers laced together, he hopped out of his seat and back into the other boy's lap. It was much more comfortable, anyway. "You're very obviously one-of-a-kind~"
Chiaki found himself leaning in to the chest beside him - it was bony, but he loved it anyway. Dai smelled nice. Really, really nice. He had to resist the urge to purr; why, exactly, he'd felt like doing that, he didn't know. He chalked it up to being utterly content.
"Hm... I never finished!" Chiaki mused, aware that he was talking into the other's chest. "I like food, and cooking. And.. um.. I dunno. You'll just have to find out the rest~"

"Dai, that was kind of the point!"
And yet again, Dai allows one to fly right over his head. Smiling sheepishly he laughed, scratching the back of his head with his free hand. When the other boy sat in his lap this time, Daisuke didn't jump, he didn't blush, he just smiled. It was as if the other boy could read into Daisuke's desires. He never cared much of what other people thought, so this wasn't embarrassing. In fact, he was kinda proud of all the looks they were getting from people passing by.
"You're very obviously one-of-a-kind~"
Dai rested his head on top of the other boy's head and squeezed his hand. "You too." he began, his thumb still tracing circles into Chi's hand, "I'm surprised that this even ended up happening. I mean... I can't talk to guys in a flirty manner like you can. As you saw in the locker room... I turn into a mess, and I was fine with that fact about me. Never in a million years did I think that this was going to come out of today." He was glad it did come out of today though. Daisuke had to resit the urge to press his face into Chiaki's hair.
Cooking? Dai was already watering at the mouth. Chi was perfect, for him at least.. and he was excited to constantly be able to learn more about him. "I like eating, so maybe Chi can cook for me one day." he smiled, pulling away from Chi and looking at his face, "The rest huh? I'm looking forward to it."

Instant chemistry, that's what their relationship must have had - how else would the two of them be able to be so comfortable, so intimate right in the middle of a mall? Chiaki exhaled slowly as Dai rested his head on top of his own, still tracing electric circles on the back of his hand. God. This felt too good to be true, but the warmth of Dai's body told him that it was.
"I'm surprised that this even ended up happening. I mean... I can't talk to guys in a flirty manner like you can. As you saw in the locker room... I turn into a mess, and I was fine with that fact about me. Never in a million years did I think that this was going to come out of today."
Chiaki smiled - who in their right mind would ever see something like this happening? "Ah, but you were a cute enough mess that I couldn't resist! I don't usually ask out guys I meet in the locker room, you know~" When he thought about it, the difference between the blushing trainwreck he'd met only a few hours earlier and the happy, comfortable Daisuke whose lap he was sitting in, whose huge, warm hand was covering his own, seemed incredible. "I'm cool with how it turned out, we'll obviously take the cake for 'most interesting way to meet'. Haha~"
"I like eating, so maybe Chi can cook for me one day." Daisuke smiled, pulling away from him so they could make eye contact again.
"Ooh, okay! Just be warned: clothes are not allowed in chef Chiaki's kitchen~" Chi laughed again, waving the statement away with his free hand. "Don't worry, I'm kidding~ ☆"
"The rest huh? I'm looking forward to it."
"Me too!" sang Chiaki, letting go of Daisuke's hand so he could throw his arms around his neck, planting another kiss on his cheek.
